 No.28823

who else here thinks civcraft should be played on an earth map?

 No.28824

>Every city will be in place of an old one (New New York, New Boston, New LA and so forth)

>All that water with no land

>Nations are based on IRL nations/entities

Ayy lmano. But it would be pretty cool anyways. Aside from the flaws I pointed out.

well i think ur idea is wrong. Until Praxis/the next Minecraft comes out and we can support massive fucking maps that span a near-realistic scale of the earth and there are up to tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people around on that map, I'd say an Earth map would be boring at the end of the day. Also, transportation would be a huge factor in such a big map. There could be complex vehicles without the garbage coding Minecraft uses and all sorts of wonderful things

My main gripe with Praxis is how it aims to be a space thing. Which means once a few big guys make it to space, everyone's gonna be out in space doing stuff and the whole game will be spoiled because it'd be impossible to re-create that feeling of developing civilization through the ages, fighting against tribes, then countries, then empires and unions. That's why I think Praxis should make it so players are distributed among (life-bearing) planets in a fairly equal amount as to make each planet develop through time in their own way. With space-faring planets still able to drop by, but not directly interact with them (such as giving them goods and whatnot, maybe allow a few players to go off traveling with them in the ship). A huge issue for us in particular would be the relevance of Chanada as a whole in a massive pool of players.

It would make more sense if this biome generation was more earthlike. It would be cool if all the ice biomes were in the north and south poles, with tropical biomes in the middle.

Yea, earth like but not our earth. It would get pretty annoying having everyone just trying to roleplay real life nations.

>an actual, thriving, long term city with complex transportation/utility infrastructures, topped with high density residential towers, over sized office corporation skyscrapers, and a sophisticated, built from scratch legal department that enforces basic law

>a real cities intricate and complex development from a single shack to towering buildings observable to an average person over the course of a year or two

Honestly, if I could witness this I could die peacefully.

>One day an invading force of thousands of players sieges the city and a defense force is scrambled to stop them

>several revered buildings are heavily damaged and homes are turned into rubble

>artillery mounted on city walls exchange fire with tanks

>paratroopers drop down into the city and start killing citizens to take their stuff and assert dominance

>The nation that owns the city finishes their newest tech: laser weaponry

>The invading tanks and vehicles are melted upon contact

>The defending side wins the battle after a siege that lasted at least 10 hours

Please let this happen in my lifetime

Better yet. Imagine all of this on a VR headset

More edge than graph theory.
