 No.29667

Hi, most of y'all may know me already from my funposting and political conversations from the Mumble. But I am making this thread to see if Chanada (Or a state, entity or individual within Chanada) still has a claim the lands known simply as 'Benistan' that is located in the deep positive, negative (10500,-9600).

From what I have been informed, the claim is still in existence, however the person who lived in Benistan that was a Chanadian has been inactive for months.

The Greater Hjaltland Empir wants to make a claim to this land of Benistan. As this land was historically Hjaltlander, and many portions of Benistan were built up by Hjaltland citizens. I am here as a representative to negotiate the cession of Benistan to the Greater Hjaltland Empire.

 No.29670

No means no. It is our claim. We already told you in mumble.

 No.29671

>>29670

Who is 'we' I've been getting conflicting information from Chanada about who has the claim. Hjaltland is willing to negotiate the cession of Benistan.

 No.29672

>>29667

Now I'm no representative of Viridian or whoever still holds the claims to Benistan, so what I say holds no weight on the results of any negotiations.

I will say this though: this is rather scummy of you folks to bring this to us now of all times. I knew that as soon as the Mir situation kicked off, the vultures would come to pick pieces off Chanada amidst the chaos. If you're actually wanting to discuss the issue on grounds of good faith, come and talk to us about it after the war is over and things have cooled down. Right now, Chanadian land is under lockdown.

 No.29673

I'm unfamiliar with the Benistan situation; all I know is that some Chanadian had a claim on it, and that claim has not been relinquished since then. I haven't heard any of the recent mumble discussions on the subject, and I'd be interested to hear what Hjaltland has to offer for our land, as well as what objections other Chanadians would have to us accepting whatever deal Hjaltland might offer.

Now isn't the time to be discussing this, though. The anon here >>29672 is right. We've got pressing issues to attend to and while I personally think we should be open to any good faith desire to discuss that land, we're incapable of doing so right now. Come back to talk it over after things with Mir have calmed down.

It's Federal Land of Chanada since the claimant of the land no longer plays, the Governments of the Confederacy will be happy to discuss this matter at another time, until such a point Benistan is Chanadian territory and is to be treated as such.

Have a nice day.

It is, first off, an outrage that any Chanadian would speak about Benistan without the proper historical authority to do so. Second, it is an outrage that anyone would recognize their "claim" to lands whose original purpose was in independence from their state.

Benistan was originally a massive farming operating in the +- in a time before I arrived there. The cooperative had been abandoned a year before I discovered it, by then an exile due to my involvement in the IDF revolutionary plot. Myself, ConnorW, and R509, the remnant of the IDF at the time, founded our nation there as a small state independent of Chanada and neighboring Hjaltland, who lay no claim to the islands at the time. There was a fight over the Nether biome, which we attempted to claim against Saraliana's will, and we ended up dropping the biome from our claim.

Our flag was the banner of the IDF, a Spurdo placed in the center of a black, white, and red banner. It was to be a homeland for shitposters like us.

Benistan for a time worked. We kept up with the farms and started our own projects to expand the already well-developed island. Settlers, mostly from /pol/, joined our efforts. Presumably the ruins of the incomplete Ben Garrison Memorial Station still stand as a marker of our presence. Hjaltland was originally friendly and built us a rail network to access the nation through their region, and they did come to our aid once or twice against griefers. We ended up agreeing to vassalage so long as we could call the union of Hjaltland and Benistan the "Northern Chanadian Empire", which never stuck and was never really taken seriously by Chanada or even Hjaltland.

We ended up harboring a certain infamous fugitive who had not been pardoned by the Chanadian government for her crimes, and when she was discovered to be living in our claims, Chanada threatened to invade Benistan and destroy it. Days after she was outed, the nation collapsed. Shortly before the de facto demise of Benistan, we declared independence from Hjaltland after they failed to ensure any sort of support against Chanada. The leadership fled through sympathetic socialist cities out of the region, and disappeared for a time. Those left behind would grief Hjaltland in retaliation.

In the days afterwards a few Chanadians would make the trip north to deface the island, but none would have serious intention of making it a part of Chanadian territorial claims. Kovio, however, would add Benistan to her maps as a Chanadian claim to spite the former inhabitants.

Benistan historically was proto-reddit. It's collapse set the stage for the latter state to emerge. Among the historical accomplishments that occurred in relation to the state were the writing of "NES2 gets poo'd" and "The Great Shillposting War of '14". ZombieLenin made a historic visit to Benistan as well, which is archived in one of the socialist publications that were produced around that time.

I'm not here to lodge a claim I cannot maintain. I'm just here to ask that you guys not shit upon the grave any further and leave the site preserved. If anyone is willing, I'd like to see Benistan restored. I petition for Hjaltland and Chanada to cooperate in this affair. I'd prefer this happen than the site plowed for some other settlement, ignorant of the history of Benistan or what it meant to the survivors of the Great IDF Exodus.

TL;DR

>Benistan was the first proper IDF state, and predates reddit

>It's only marked "Chanadian" because kovio is an autist

>Hjaltland doesn't really have a legitimate claim either beyond proximity

>For the love of God, just agree to restore the site and cooperate on that project jointly

>Or to at least sell it to a party that won't completely demolish it

Alright Hjaltland, if you can negotiate something that all of these parties can agree on then I see no reason for Chanada to object to whatever agreement you work out. Have fun!

Can you explain what you see inaccurate in his post? I don't know anything about the situation, just curious.

I just want to know which Hjaltlanders are which members from Zana.

This is mostly accurate, but the claim was discussed with neighbours in the area at the time to see if they cared if we claimed it, they didn't mind.

The gist of it is that it was literally claimed for Viridian (and by extension, Chanada) to spite the IDF. We never used the land in the many months we've claimed it, I'm fairly certain we don't intend to, and Hjaltland owning in would be the next best thing in terms of the original purpose of us claiming it. While I don't think it's in our best interest to simply give land away at this very time, it would in my opinion make sense to sell it or to come to some sort of agreement over it.

I dont meme with national security, its main use is to be a stepping stone for us to bounty hunt niggers in the north, while giving us a safe place to rest in. But our king will be happy to discuss a compromise, at a later time.

You truly are one to "negotiate" with arnet you?

 No.29786

I claimed Benistan with full authority of the Viridian Government.

It's ours, and this claim is acknowledged by Hjaltland.

Yes it was done to spite you, doesn't make the claim any less legitimate.
