>Whatever happen to "pass the legacy onto the next generation"
I already did. Outcast and I see eye to eye on literally almost every issue and he WAS the second generation, after mine.
As for my 'legacy', I never excessively cared about it. The fact is, the nation is immer's baby, not mine, if I had my way a LOT of things would have gone differently in /Pol/ynesia, for better or for worse. And while immer has always been willing to work with me and give my opinions weight, we have never seen eye to eye on the fundamental structure of /Pol/ynesian society, at almost any point. Outcast and I agree as often as immer and I disagreed. I don't resent anybody, especially immer, for what they think /Pol/ynesia should be. If anything, the fact that differing views exist allows the flexibility that /Pol/ynesia needs to survive, rather than restrict and kill it.
I always viewed activity as being the most important thing a player could give, because no matter how shitty they were, no matter how incompetent or annoying or wasteful or unproductive, at least they could be reformed and at least they could contribute to the national dialogue, in whatever small way they wish. Nobody sticks around just to be a total faggot and I'll take a player who is dedicated and active, but does approximately NOTHING over a group of people who log in to grind any day of the week. That has always been the difference between immer and I. He is willing to sacrifice the (no offense intended) Deathpath1's, even if they come on every day.
See, the thing that makes a good community is that it is fun. A community where people log on to grind or to piss away diamonds is not a community, it is a well oiled machine. And the immer I saw come into power over a dynamic community has been replaced by an immer who is, I think, very tired and who focuses mainly on the machine for many reasons, especially normie life. I, well, I never fit into a well oiled machine, did I. I was always "that guy", the black sheep, always the most likely trip and put my foot in my mouth. And it shows. Was I dynamic and did I add that to the community? Absolutely. But that's not what /Pol/ynesia is as much anymore and at this point I no longer care if that statement offends people or risks my position in /Pol/ynesia. I fucking disagree with the way recruitment and community have been handled and I will stand by that statement if I have to. My legacy, hopefully, is that people like OutcastMephisto, Gb, Sburc, and the remnants of my time will remember what I said and remember me as a powerful anchor. Who knows, maybe I'll become highly active and take a center role again.
>I think nobody would think less of you if you decided to take a step back, its something you have to do if real life calls.
Yeah, life for me is changing and quickly, my habits change as well, this server included.
