To CivHQ i say: Smart move. Chanada has become a confederacy of dunces all scrambling for the peak of the shit pile. We saw eye to eye on most things and had to argue and scuffle to get just about anything done. You will do better on your own and I intend to to maintain a friendly status with all of you - you are good people no hard feelings.

To logibear I say: this attitude of mocking, belittling, lying about and working towards the destruction of anyone who simply disagrees with you will not get you far in life. All I wanted was for the /bane/ nation to recruit from /bane/. I don't think this was too much to ask.

As the leader of the only nation with any semblance of competence, activity and anything slightly resembling strength left in Chanada - I'm left with a difficult decision; one where I see two options.

1. Declare autonomy and dissolve the union, focus only on ourselves, our allies by choice and our current holdings. We have all that we need. Neustria may join as a junior partner in a new union if they so wish.

2. Attempt to rebuild Chanada in our own image, try to recruit fresh towns from other the main boards (again) and be forced to start the cycle of growth (and shittery) anew.

You can tell which direction I am leaning but the govt of /pol/ynesia has much to discuss. Believe it or not I've got a date with a 100% real life actual white cis human female tonight - I'll be on around 10:30est and we can discuss which path to take.

I would advocate for the first option, I know this is against "chan spirit", but really, when we look at the facts, recruiting non-pol boards has pretty much failed all the time we tried.

Viridian - dead, Intis - dead, Versailles - dead, Akihabara - dead, Tygrus - dead, and now Spainland and Kuntry top it all off nicely by not dying peacefully of inactivity like their predecessors and instead decided to backstab us before fucking off.

As I see it, the only people left of us on the entire server, not just chanada, are we (pol), Neustria (correct me if I'm wrong but I think you guys are also mainly pol) and CHQ, which is a mixed crew of FAGT oldfriends and Versilly veterans.

And lets face it, getting quality people to play here is hard as fuck. Not only is Minecraft a pretty shitty game to base anything on, civcraft specifically is a huge timesink with very little action taking place. The amount of shit you need to do to get some good enchanted stuff is ridiculous, so only really determined people stay, which I can understand.

Aside of that, Polynesia got great and still persists because we follow our Führer, we actually take this whole political experiment shit atleast semi-seriously, trying to do whats good and beneficial to our state.

Meanwhile, many people joining from other boards, or sometimes even from pol (looking at you logi) are only in it for delusions of grandeur and personal profit. As soon as their own interests and those of the state clash, they throw a fit, and better yet, more and more actually run to reddit the second they don't get what they want to whine there and act like fucking Brianna Wu.

Its been a long time since people followed the old "in-house" approach to problem solution, and even longer since something like chan spirit was an actual thing. We need to look elsewhere for steadfast allies, so much is now clear, atleast for me. I think both the HKE and Thule seem like good people, and maybe we could work some more traditional cooperations out with them.

One last thing, I really want Neustria to be on board with us, those guys have been chill, drama-free people as long as I know them, and losing them would be really sad tbh.

I am very glad that this is the sentiment of Chanadians, and I hate to disappoint, but Thule is part of the Western Empire and part of our obligation is to not enter any formal or informal military alliances with any other state or organization. Despite the name, the Western Empire is actually designed to be a military alliance that allows states to be fully autonomous, and those states don't have to sit on the west side of the map.

Polynesia is of course welcome to apply to join the Western Empire, so PM me on plebbit for info if you guys end up considering it.

We haven't made an announcement post yet but we've worked on a constitution for the past 3 or 4 months - Our member states are Aeon, Thule, Etherium, and Venice. The requirements for joining is not having any pre-existing treaties and pretty much not having the potential to stir shit.

No way, immer isn't the primary reason or even a main reason. What killed Chanada was the obstructionism and inability to actually document anything. Anytime anything was proposed, every single time, it was always shot down or filibustered. The worst example of this was MobAction coming into Chan Meetings and rambling about White Castle and occasionally casting his vote in the /a/ki-/v/iridian-/v/ersailles-titan block that used to dominate every decision. Then you had immelol and a host of Krautchanners and redditors who were desperate for power and tried to force their vision of Chanada down the actual channer's throats. The perfect example of this would be HanTzu and his self-serving attempt to own the nether portal that was created in /pol/ynesian territory as a community asset.

Even if you somehow were able to shut up the dank memers and hysterical loudmouths for ten seconds, you were met with the second wall of opposition, the "I don't quite see why we need to deal with that right now..." bloc. Joshjosh, I respect you enormously, but now that Civ HQ seceded with the complaint of not having documentation and a constitution, I can only recall your words when I tried to propose a constitution and get people to work on it: "I don't quite see why we need it."

The lack of structure to meetings and dealing with things also didn't help. People were left out, meetings were scheduled last minute by people so that their agenda would be the only one to actually get worked on, and dank memers would team up with a bunch of people who just simply didn't want to spend time thinking about how to fix the problems to obstruct literally anything. This created a crisis mentality, where meetings were only called whenever there was a dire situation. And even then, they stopped being called because the leadership needed to make snap decisions. There were times when immer himself would only be told that some decision was being made about the Mir War when he saw that everybody was discussing things privately.

All this combined to create an amazingly incompetent and shitty government of a failed confederation. Back room deals probably helped kill Chanada, but that was only a reaction to the existing lack of structure. The simple problem is, none of the constituent chan states really wanted to do what was necessary. There were times when Tazmily and /Pol/ynesia would team up, sure, but you always had people who were only in it for themselves, or used Chanada as the right hand of Nox, or just simply were along for the ride and didn't want reform because it would put a stop to their dank meming. Those who know me know who I personally hold accountable for the creation of the toxic situation and culture of greed, selfishness, and shady backroom deals to help out their friends, I don't need to name them. But immer was not one of them.

Not true. /a/ki was already in severe decline even by the time I came here and I tried to encourage them to get back on their feet and even advocated for them getting back votes when they might not have deserved them.
