>Space, myself, and others are/where good eggs that went bad because we were left out in the sun.
I can't say that I disagree. People don't just 'go bad', usually, it's the environment they find themselves in.
>You don't like rocking the boat with politics ingame because you're too affraid of someone knocking your blocks down. So pol has been isolationists on world affairs, which is fine.
This is actually a fair point.
>We just meme'd and became the clowns of civcraft. Even in internal affairs, everything was done to keep the status quo which we saw as stagnation
I hate to say it, but I...find myself agreeing with this. Ultimately, my loyalty lies with immer and /Pol/ynesia to the end. I would never burn what I love. But I cannot deny that in the past several months, the stagnation that I have seen has become evident. Space's betrayal hits me hard, as does Emperor_Rick. I liked and trusted both of these players, to the point where I wanted to make them my successors in Volkstadt if the time ever came when I needed to do so. Unfortunate that this loss has gone down like this.
>What is the turnover rate for newfriends? Is it any higher or lower then the other civcraft nations?
Much, MUCH lower. The average nation is lucky to bring in one or two occasionally here and there. As a percentage of the population (and yes, I ran the numbers on this) we do very well. About 1/10 sticks around for a month or more, with maybe 1/20 sticking it out indefinitely.
>What's most important to you is that you have people you can use to keep playing in your sandbox. Everything else was secondary.
You're right. I think that /Pol/ynesia may have swung too far in the opposite direction from what we were. But you must understand our history: for months and months, we were disgracefully inefficient. The government was a shitshow, nobody had a coherent goal except immer and a few regulars who would do things quietly, and the community was filled with violent criminals, griefers, and shitters. People who wouldn't have hesitated to burn Neustria down. You remind me of many of our worst members we had in the old days.
That being said, we pulled ourselves out of the mud and rose to become not just a strong nation but to dominate (and eventually replace and swallow) Chanada. We did this by getting our shit together. We worked for MONTHS. Constant squabbling, infighting, Tigen and I vs Aufdenstadt and others about /k/, immer vs me about government reform, and any number of other smaller conflicts. But eventually, we pulled ourselves together because no matter what, we understood one simple thing: we are friends. We play this for fun. And this is our home. Without Volkstadt, without /Pol/ynesia, few if any of us would have stuck around. And so while we may fight sometimes and squabble, we are all loyal to our core. Clearly, you failed to realize this. None of us, no matter how nasty our fighting ever got or our disagreements were, EVER even THOUGHT of griefing our own city. Yes, we want more people for the sandbox. But not as slaves, as friends. I thought you were a friend, but clearly your loyalty only went as far as your extremely narrow and hysterical politics.
>Maybe you've spent too much time on reddit.
Good try, friendo. You have no idea how much I hate the redditors here, as a general rule, but make no mistake: I'll take them over you any day. At least they don't betray their own and grief their own cities and those of our loyal allies to enforce their admittedly hysterical and baseless political activism (Usually, that is. The WP types will do this sometimes).
>If you want a tight community you need to narrow the type of people who join.
No. Having built communities in this game for almost five years now, tight communities are built on trust and loyalty, not on all being exactly the same, ideologically. In fact, a somewhat ideologically diverse community can sometimes keep things interesting, as long as the core values are the same and people trust each other and are loyal.
