 No.34837

So after some discussion this morning it seems there is a good possibility that sea level around /Pol/ynesia is rising. The ocean normally occupies y62 The ocean near South Volk is occupying y64.

At first this seemed like grief, and it still may be. However, I dismiss this since the water level raise is so widespread. It goes 500 blocks east of Volk. I dismiss this since to raise water levels above water, one would have to place a layer of dirt or cobble to make dry land so that the placed water buckets could form source blocks. If you simply create pillars in the ocean and place water on them, they will only spread 1 block in each direction, as it attempts to create a water column.

The area around /Pol/ynesia's current dig site was also hit this morning. The ocean level raise covered an area larger than Wulfkhaine.

Call me a crazy tinfoil hatter, but this is either the beginning of the end or an entire griefing army.

After seeing and hearing facts from different griefed and admins, I think this is more of a map issue rather than an intention. They've had issues with chunks in the past and this may be a *plausible* accident. As stated by most, the work needed to be done would have to take a lot more time than we currently give.

We have been constantly getting greifed by Emperor Rick, it is obvious since I showed you how to do it, that this is greif as well.

Pic related to those that dont know

Orang represents current sea level

Blue represents where water buckets get placed

Grass is well, the land

The Green is either a 2nd land/wall or say i take dirt and make a dirt bridge out into the water

2nd pic shows the result, placing water on the 2 sides will create a massive infinite water source throughout the square

Alternatively, you can replace the water buckets with ice blocks and not even have to dig out with a dirt bridge. Break the ice and it will have the same effect

Does that work on top of an existing water source block though? I know it would work on land, however with the water physics it seems like the water doesn't spread normally.

I didn't know that it worked above water too, but yeah this is definitely grief. Extensive, and annoying.

Got banned for flooding the entire test server like that.

> the water physics it seems like the water doesn't spread normally

Only if you're high up or creating a lot of flowing water, if you're just in the ocean then there shouldn't be an issue. Only way to stop it is get some bastions going or capture the guy doing it.

i doubt it's emperor rick. His style is more grind out 2 stacks of iron and obby and then pump and dump. This has been happening for a while in a slow meticulous autistic manner. It's kinda amusing actually.
