Now in the past people have given me a hard time about my stance on Applebees®- I've said some harsh things before - but the truth of the matter is; I am a big, big fan. 20 dollars for two entrees and an appetizer how can you beat that? I have alot of experience and have built a great company. I know what American's like - and 20 dollars... it's hard to beat that value. Go in there with your wife, a girlfriend, I can take my beautiful daughter Ivanka for instance, take your mother out for a nice dinner or someone you meet on a minecraft server - have a delicious meal and not spend very much money. Great value, unbelievable value.
The problem is, we don't get great 2 for 20 deals anymore. Not like we used to. All the great deals in dine-in restaurants are run by the Chinese and Mexicans. When they send their line cooks, they aren't sending their best and brightest. It's a fact that most of that money get's sent back home. These people don't care about America, they don't pay taxes, but if they slice their finger while chopping a poblano pepper - who's footing the hospital bill? You better believe it folks, we're being taken for a ride here and it makes me sick.
I was talking to my friend Carl Ichann, a very smart business man, a great business man, one of the best - and he tells me -"Donald, ya know, I'm thinking of putting a PF Chang's in the new mall complex we are developing out in Denver" I said to him, "Carl, I mean no disrespect but have you lost your mind? The people, the citizens of Denver - and these are smart people people by the way *clapping intensifies* oh it's true - I wouldn't just say that if I didn't mean it - what - oh i love you too dear - what a crowd! great energy, wonderful energy. These people they don't want to pay 26.65 for chicken lo'mein -what does that even mean? Lo Mein -overpriced greasy noodles in chinese?? - no they want something simple, elegant, hearty, American and affordable. They're in, they're out - they pay the bill - they get on with their lives. The citizens of Denver, they want an Applebees® out in Denver"
Carl looks at me, and says " you know Donald - I never thought about it like that before but you are 100% correct, Americans really do want to eat great 2 for 20 deals at honest American restaurants like Applebees®"
It's that easy folks - it's that easy to make the right decision that benefits our country. With one conversation we were able to create jobs and keep the money and growth right here in our country. Right here in the beautiful state of Colorado - and once I'm elected you will have so many great 2 for 20 deals to choose from, you'll get sick of having delicious 2 for 20 deals.
Once I'm elected - not only will I make Applebees® great again, I. WILL. make - The United States of America.... prosperous and great again.
