Whoever knows me only knows me as the shitposting mung that I always act like due to lack of anything better to do but this is a fresh slate and something new. If old /v/iridian members remember me when I first joined I was an industrial person gung-ho on removing reddit. I still believe in this group and I still believe we can as I was originally sold on; "REMOVE REDDIT". If this doesn't belong here then just ignore it/delete it what ever. I just want a word in.

I propose that all the chans make 1 giant city instead of making a bunch of them. I propose that we settle cultural

areas of the giant city to whoever in invisible districts known by us and decorative differences. I believe that the best way to keep us as channers strong is to stick united under 1 flag. Split up into factions all you want but our core we should be 1 group. Splitting into separate cities is opening us up for loss of players and a decline in strength/production. If we build up as a large city instead of a few smaller cities we provide more production, quicker production and quicker everything. A government is people who just make choices. I do not believe we need a "minister of X" for every detail. While this is a nice fantasy to have when has it worked out? I rather have the judgement of those actually doing their job run their world with somebody who represents us making specific choices that not everybody can make. I don't need an overseer to dig holes. I know what my goal is, there is nobody to make a choice about anything being dug but me and my hole.

Diplomacy is what we need a government for. We need a government to make sure the city functions properly and doesn't turn into 1 giant building with storage + factories that nobody needs to build/go anywhere else. We need a government to prevent petty fights and other stupid crap. We don't need people for anything else. I suggest a court to create precedent as we grow. Do not keep a circle of people. We all know each other. We know who does well doing things. We have seen our circlejerk government systems rise and fall countless times. We don't need that. What we need is people pushing directions and making choices that not everybody should have to make. We need people to keep records and to provide ideas. We don't need to be ruled and we dont need to be run. If people want further explanation of anything just ask me but I for one believe this would be the correct direction to go in and not to retry what has already been proven to alienate members, create cliques and bully out whoever they don't agree with. This isn't a competition amongst ourselves this is a war against reddit that the chanaidians will overcome and conquer them.

pic not related.

 No.35722

This post is basically what we've all been saying from the get-go. Invisible districts, if any, a seamless city, and nobody squatting at the top and participating in a circlejerk. If you want to do what you want to do, do it, within reason. If you want to keep records or suggest things, do.

The only thing that should be controlled is the actual development of the city, so that we can balance our needs of fun and creativity with our need of defense and keeping a strong, united community. Suburban sprawl is the only thing that will be really cracked down on. If you think you can do something well, talk to others, get their opinion, then do it if it seems like a good idea. It's quite simple.

I played v1 too, and am aware that ASF used that base in v1. I never said they didn't.

>Everybody trying to regain the glory that was my server.

v1 was great, but that was mostly due to it having a shitload of hype, aided by the fact that it's playerbase hadn't been alienated by previous shitshows, and a general naivete surrounding factions (shit gets a lot less fun when all the factions are powerplayers and every base exploits factions mechanics to the fullest). How the admins handled the server had very little to do with it. In fact there was an awful lot of drama and bullshit surrounding v1 that made a lot of people dislike it.

Namely, shit was rushed and broken, admin decisions were incredibly fickle, admin intervention was rampant, and there were a fair few cases of straight up admin abuse to the degree that they caused several factions to give an ultimatum or they'd stop playing. Shit, even you jumped ship halfway through if I remember correctly, leaving it in the hands of what was pretty much a skeleton crew of pic related.

I'm not exactly trying to defend later iterations, as they all lasted about half as long due to lack of hype, shit plugins, shit admins, shit hosting(ddos), but v1 wasn't that much better by any means, and suffered most of the problems that all of the later ones did. The only reason it survived longer was due to the aforementioned hype and unalienated playerbase.

There was constant betrayal and sabotage involved. I needed people to do things that I couldn't so I'd grab somebody for temp admin use and have them do their thing. People like Charles and coty constantly fucked everything up to the point I had to remove them by force. Coty would say things and go against what I was doing nearly every step. I removed him and he started to spread things I kept from the public like choices we were making and what we did that wouldn't "settle" with people too well. Charles constantly spawned shit and ran around doing things for players. Everything I ended up doing was to prevent further sabotage to the server. Every person I brought on for temporary use decided they wanted to stay admin and would fuck me over before I got to changing their situation. My team was just me, noodle and echo when I had a bunch of tardos (great people but they just wanted to play) and a handful of others who were constantly working behind our backs. The hype train was so big I didn't know what to do with it. The drama was caused by people who I didn't let have power which EVERYBODY wanted power. Mapfag wouldn't get admin so he bailed and that pushed us to the whole temp work thing.

It was a total nightmare. I bailed only to convince people I wasn't there anymore so they'd stop trying to sabotage it from within. It wasn't a democracy nor was it up to the players. I had a system in place. Representatives from the boards to tell me whats going on with them. Not "leaders" none of that crap but they all thought they were going to be the leaders. It was horrible never again please.

He constantly spawned things for /a/ and /jp/, caused as MANY problems as he could for the entire dev team. He also stole the server.

He told me he found this really great server for ..150? dollars to rent. It was pretty baller honestly. well here was his scam, he bought the server for me with the donation funds and then tells me like a day later he "broke it" so he got a return and bought his own server that was like half the price. He took the money and then started the crock of how I "stole" the donation funs that coty was pushing constantly. So instead of a GOOD server to use we ended up with the shitty one we landed on because charles stole it. He also told me he was being spied on by the CIA, that autonomous tanks with AI were being developed by the canadian government and that we was constantly flying from russia to hawaii to canada so the CIA couldn't track him down. Dude also has an imaginary GF reiko? Something who the fuck knows that he has fake chat logs with. Anybody who follows him is part of his little cult and honestly it was a mistake to ever allow him to do anything. The only reason I allowed him on was because he was available to fix broken shit/edit plugins but he got way too close.

I was 100% honest with everybody and in the end even thor fucked me. I gave him the rest of the donation money and he then helped perpetuate the "saile stole it all!". what ever I can handle it. Last I heard he and coty were jerking each other off in other iterations.

Trust who you want I guess? I'll always tell the truth even if I'm a drunken maymay poster.

/h/ was sameteem. What happened was I couldn't give them ALL admin so we just let them play as the bullshit group which was fine since you just had to claim a board and you are good to go (fucking asf I swear to god all you had to do was claim a board you autists) and they did whatever they wanted and we'd laugh about the butthurt that it caused to everybody else. We didn't give them anything nor did the admins spawn anything when we played with them. We just wanted to have a good time after having 3k people on our asses about every choice we had to make. We woke up every day, got on teamspeak and the first thing we'd do was ask "Alright, wheres the list of broken shit?". Every day was just worse and worse dealing with it. I wasn't an "ideas guy". I was the only person who could keep the entire thing moving/organized. Without me for 2 days everything started tearing apart which brought me right back to it before it collapsed due to me kinda just making horrible choices and purposely crashing the plane with no survivors 4u. Thors idea was cash4sticks which was the ONLY material item we could give you in good will. Honestly I knew everything going on. When I let board reps get on the server and set up their spot on the map I knew most of them spawned like a chest of D blocks for a bullshit head start or something. I had hacks going on galore and was watching chat and seeing people say shit in game about their cheats and what not too. In the name of letting people just have their fun we looked the other way too many times. I will say as /h/ personally I fucked up a lot of boards just because they sucked at actually playing and it was fun. The siege of the /h/ home base was even better. Our giant obby block in the sky was never breached. If I could do it again I'd have a plan set up before just winging nearly everything and competent people who DON'T interact with each other without my intervention. Every time I allowed them to do something on their own they'd fuck each other. It was like trying to keep beta fish in the same tank. I loved those guys though. They sacrificed their time and effort to deal with all the bullshit and mine too.

Now I just want civ 3.0 to go smooth and most of what I'm reading looks like stupid circles everybody is going in.

 No.36217

Yeah, I was aware /h/ were sameteem, and their setting up on our island instead of their own at the very start and incessant shitspouting in chat was what drove us to war with them in the first place. I'm also incredibly dubious as to how fast their base switched from cobble to obsidian, considering how low their player activity seemed around the time it happened (bucketing that much obby and placing+breaking or forming manually takes a considerable amount of time).

>giant obby block in the sky was never breached

Actually I enderpearled through the floor (surprisingly tricky given how fucky enderpearls were on that server) and cleaned out anything of value in the chests, then a day later, /jp/, /a/ and /mlp/ broke through the top with a wither and removed everything else. It's on video somewhere. I also personally locked them out of the nether several days before that.

Bullshit, we did have power; relay of information to users. If you're a dick to the people who act as interconnects, the users think you're a dick by extension. You can't expect to insult the representatives of your general userbase and still retain a server population. Thor and Noodle both knew that, it's why you were removed from public relations.

Horrible times honestly I regret ever dealing with that. Stof knew where I was and what I had to go do.

Your jobs were simple, just tell me what the hell was going on. None of that "WE DEMAND THIS OR WE'LL STOP PLAYING!" bullshit. It was never a democracy nor did you have any pull/say. We had to make so many choices we never wanted to. I had to say and do things I didn't want to to keep 3k people from exploding constantly. Hell I had complaints out the ass of things like "I just got kicked off for "flying" so an admins friend can play". Everything was against me the whole time. You all fell for even more bullshit that was spewed against me and even if you have no idea in reality the entire "rep" group was constantly inviting me to random TS chats and then talking shit to me. When I defended myself against them they would start spouting how it was me always talking shit to them and causing all the issues. I honestly don't know who you are nor do I really care so much. I don't have many screenshots of things nor did I record anything to hurt anybodies reputation in any way. I actually let everybody get away with everything they said nor named names. The only times I publicly fought back was when there were threads 300 posts omitted about "saile jewed us all" which we all know is a lie. Now if you want to argue find something real. You don't like me because I was mean to you and didn't let somebody who didn't matter have a place that mattered? Fine be angry I don't care. Wanna spout lies? Fine, I'll counter them with truth. Wanna tell me I did nothing? Sure I guess. Every choice was mine to make though.

Also stof, I left because I fucked you out of X00 dollars and couldn't bare to talk to you anymore because I did leave to you fail and I am sorry about that. I should have put echo in your position but you spent so much effort with me I didn't want to hurt your feelings. It was a horrible position and the choice I made was going to be wrong in general. Noodle should have been replaced with echo at least. I don't even know what happened that whole show. Nobody really told me how it played out just it failed in no time.

Saile, I don't really have anything against you, but:

People hate(d) coty for being impressively incompetent

People hate(d) charles for not caring about being unbiased, or caring about the server at all

People hate(d) me because they assumed I was biased towards /a/, or essentially enabled coty, I also made some heavy-handed decisions occasionally

People hate(d) the rest of the 4craft admins for simply having anything to do with 4craft adminship

People still hate you for being on some high horse like you were the sole reason v1 could've been considered anything close to successful, even though you too were directly or indirectly part of what prevented it from being a true success

I wanted to help run a successful 4craft, but it was already a lost cause due to alienation of the playerbase and people being too savvy with factions (semi-private factions servers with fairly open pvp/raiding do not tend to last a long time). I regret ever agreeing to help the 2013craft admins, or agreeing to help coty with v6 or v7.

Also I don't believe you actually 'stole' the donations, just that they were handled in a fairly poor manner, resulting in such accusations. To be honest I wouldn't have taken donations at all, or at the very least fronted the server and accepted donations after the fact from anyone that felt like it. ~250bux isn't a crazy amount for a team of a few admins to privately chip in towards. That's what I did when I helped coty (or slime, were they really different people? who knows) with v6 and I didn't get a lot of bad blood towards me, and I got my money back by the end.

Also v6 died because slime pretty much vanished shortly after launch leaving me to run 99% of it, which is kinda bad as I'm very much a running-a-server guy and not a PR guy, so the result was 0 post-launch hype. Oh also slime fucked the launch schedule by falling through on a server >she claimed to have lined up in time for launch, as well as claiming the plugin config was done and I didn't need to help with anything, when it VERY MUCH WASN'T. Combined, those resulted in a pretty lengthy delay (near enough 1 week as launching midweek was a no-go), which basically squandered the pre-launch hype.

I won't mention v7 as it lasted approximately 3 minutes, and what I threw up when I found out pip had given coty money for the server was not a true 4craft, merely a gesture of apology and practical use of what was at that point a spare dedibox that had 3 weeks of time on it.

>>36230

Hype, lack of any previous bad experience, and the fact that factions was 'new' to pretty much the entire playerbase, as it's a fucking awful plugin with extremely black-or-white 'balance' as far as pvp/raiding goes. Once v1 had happened, returning factions to any future iteration, especially those who fucked around on public factions servers afterwards, would have an immediate edge.

factions was and still is just such a bad plugin in general. Nightmare to use and every time we changed something we thought would work everybody hated it. Couldn't win. I had no money at the time to put into it and thor said "why don't we just take donations". Then coty came up with some donation plugin but we didn't have a paypal account to link to it that could accept money so we just used my personal one to make life easier for us/time schedule.

The amount of mistakes I made due to having no real experience with something so big was horrible.

Also before I go, the biggest sin that anyone can make in this area:

Enabling those who have reverse midas touch

If you want something done well, do it yourself, or do it with the help of people you know are competent. Never offer to help others you suspect aren't competent, as they will make fuckups you don't see coming and don't prevent, can't easily fix, and will have to deal with the fallout. Slime was Getzelman's fat Asian girlfriend, /a/ already posted pictures somewhere.

>Here is a picture of my brother who was born with Down's Syndrome. His teachers said he'd never amount to anything. Today he is a Sameteem regular.

Coty insisted that slime and his gf were two different people for some reason. Maybe he didn't wanna get cucked?

The water towers were because that first mapfag was entirely fucking incompetent. So was the one you hired.

The /co/ is because they wanted fuckin mountains and swamps; kept a similar shape to the original /co/ island.

What I did with /v/ actually pissed /v/ off a ton. That and I made the volcano a nether biome, so piggus everywhere.

If it was up to me we'd have done the second image. First image is the first map I made, for v3, contrast it with v1's and v2's if you like.
