This board is meant for the discussion of classical music and anything related, such as musicians or instruments.

Are we allowed to make classical music puns/jokes, orchestra jokes. Stuff like that?

Because there are so few places to connect with other people who understand our very niche humor.

Do you think we can't handel it

 No.12

I think some people might be bit anal about that stuff.

Since "making fun of", is not contained in: "discussion".

My sides man, god.

>>12

Yeah, but to be fair, if people were that serious about classical music then they probably wouldn't be coming to a place like 8chan to discuss it anyway.

 No.18

Is there a wiki or something for people looking to get into classical music? I want to start off listening to and learning to appreciate the major composers. Then learn a bit about the evolution of music through time. Then, if I haven't an heroed yet, maybe learn to play an instrument.

wat do?

I wouldn't recommend any kind of course to get in to classical music.
You will just get stuck in to endless swamp of boring string and piano music without. Important, but boring.

I think the best way would be for to give you some composers/music that resembles what you like already. Then let you start exploring on your own from that.

So what do you like? Dark, heavy, slow, fast, "happy".

fuck yeaaaah I wasn't the only one with the Idea. Thanks OP.

Well, I guess I'd have to choose 'happy' from your list, I guess. I've already heard most of Beethoven's work and I love it, especially the 5th and 7th symphonies. Also love Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody.

Basically what I love about classical music is the way all the pieces have this central theme that keeps repeating in different ways. So yeah, I'm looking for music like that, I guess.
