>The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo is finally getting an ending.

Well, this was surprising. I would have expected a Ghoul School sequel before something like this. Hell, I would have guessed we'd get a Reluctant Werewolf sequel before this!

>Velma is adamant ghosts don't exist

>The Mystery Gang is retiring

Is Zombie Island canon in this movie's universe? Is this supposed to bridge the gap between 13 Ghosts and Zombie Island? I thought the implication behind the "Red shirt shaggy" saga was that most of the gang had already retired, and only Scooby and Shaggy were still interested in mysteries? Does this mean that Fred, Daphne and Velma were just at school at the time? What about Flim Flam being a teenager now? How long has it been? Where do the post-13 Ghost movies fit into this? Where is Scappy? How friggin' old are the gang?

Daphne was in 13 Ghosts though

Right, I remember. But she wasn't in the post-13 Ghost movies. They probably take place before 13 Ghosts or something.

>no webm

Anon, how the hell are we supposed to see this?

Watch it on Hooktub–

I'm sure Zombie Island was supposed to be a quasi-reboot for the franchise that ignored a lot of what came out after Where Are You? I doubt that the Gang would have freaked out so hard at seeing actual zombies (and werecats) if they already met Count Dracula, a school for monsters, and Vincent Price as a wizard.

Well, keep in mind, Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne were the only ones who saw those things. It would also explain why during her time as a TV host Daphne was getting so frustrated they weren't running into "real" supernatural events – why would she get so upset if she didn't know for certain real supernatural things existed?

Lazy cuckchan fagot.

> Is Zombie Island canon in this movie's universe?

No, Zombie Island-Cyber Chase are an alternate timeline where the gang temporarily exited their floating timeline, became older, changed outfits, and encountered ghosts alternately. We go back to standard continuity in the movies starting with Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire.

>Is this supposed to bridge the gap between 13 Ghosts and Zombie Island?

See above.

> I thought the implication behind the "Red shirt shaggy" saga was that most of the gang had already retired, and only Scooby and Shaggy were still interested in mysteries? Does this mean that Fred, Daphne and Velma were just at school at the time?

It's stated in the movie's synopsis that Fred and Velma were at summer camp during 13 Ghosts. As for their disappearance in the Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo shorts and The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show, it's explained in S2E1, "Happy Birthday, Scooby-Doo", that the reason for Fred's and Velma's disappearance is that Fred had become an aspiring mystery novelist while Velma was an apprentice research scientist with NASA. Presumably, they had lost these jobs sometime after The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo and before What's New, Scooby-Doo?.

>What about Flim Flam being a teenager now?

Flim-Flam's not important, so he ages.

>How long has it been?

A few months, as stated by Vincent Van Ghoul.

>Where do the post-13 Ghost movies fit into this?

Aside from Zombie Island-Cyber Chase (see question 1), the rest of the movies take place after The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, and during/after What's New, Scooby-Doo?.

>Where is Scappy?

We don't talk about Scrappy.

>How friggin' old are the gang?

The same as they've always been. Fred and Shaggy are 17, Daphne's 16, Velma's 15, and Scooby's 7 (in human years).

Wait, Scooby's actually 7 in dog years, not human years, my bad.

>Scooby's actually 7 in dog years, not human years

then how was he alive in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo?

1 dog year = 7 human years.

Because it's a cartoon.

Is this a new trend now? Reviving cartoons that didn't get a conclusive ending and finally finishing them many years later. I would want one for The Pirates of Dark Water but make sure that Netflix doesn't have anything to do with it. The only thing I'd worry about besides politics is if there is enough talent right now to match the talent from back then to make it seem look it came from the same studio with such a long gap in production.

How come Shaggy wore a red shirt instead of his usual green shirt anyways?

Freaking finally. I've been waiting for this freaking conclusion for 20 freaking years here. They'd better do Vincent Pryce justice. I just hope they don't follow Mystery Inc freaking canon. And better yet, the chances of us finally getting a Ghoul School sequel are closer to becoming reality than ever before. Maybe even another Brave and the Bold crossover.

Velma is less adamant about monsters not existing in Zombie Island and is actually looking forward to finding real ones there. So this movie serves as a good explanation for what changed her mood (although a prior Scooby special also explained this in the 80s when Shaggy, Daphne, Scrappy and Scooby briefly reunited with Velma and Freddy and ended up at a monster ball), but even there she was less adamant. Either that or this movie ends with her losing her memories, thus avoiding any major inconsistencies.

>Fred, Daphne and Velma were just at school at the time

>Where is Scrappy?

I have a strong urge to kick your ass.

Where did you get this bullshit from anon-man? If anything, said movies were part of the original timeline since they were the last Scooby related projects William Hana worked on. Legend of the Vampire was just a soulless WB sequel that loosely followed the events of the last few films, but even the clothing change there can be explained as the gang having gotten nostalgic after seeing their past selves in virtual reality, thus wanting to don on the old outfits. Also, the Zombie-Cyber setting is consistent with the original continuity (which includes 13 Ghosts, Ghoul School and the Boo Brothers) as Cyber-Shaggy wears the same outfit Shaggy wore in Ghoul School and 13 Ghosts.

It was just a shitty meme started by the fucks behind the 2000s Scooby Doo movie. If anything Scrappy helped to save the franchise back in the day when its popularity was dropping fast. Obnoxious kids at the time loved his freaking obnoxious attitude.

You absolute jackass.

So /co/, do we have, like, a definitive timeline for watching everything? I want to marathon the franchise leading up to this 13 ghosts finale but I dunno where to even start man.

>I dunno where to even start man.

How about the beginning?

File: 4a1c584f9148fc7⋯.jpg (205.18 KB, 800x800, 1:1, scooby-doo where to start.jpg)

Well that's what I'm asking, there's so MUCH to go through and several "origins" over the years I'm not sure which "beginning" to go with.

I want to say it starts with

"a pup named scooby doo" and then goes in release order from the original series onward to the end of 13 Ghosts.

then the red shirt shaggy movies,

then Zombie Island-Cyber Chase.

What's new Scooby-Doo

the direct to video movies from vampire's curse onward.

but here's where things fucked. where does Mystery Inc., be cool, and get a clue fall on the timeline? or do they belong on their own timeline? do the live action movies/specials go on the animated timeline or are they their own thing? in mystery map its own thing because it uses puppets?is the lego stuff its own thing as well? this is making my brain hurt, man.

I'd treat 2006-2008 and Be cool as their own thing. My view is that the original Where are you, the 70's movies and cartoons, 13 Ghosts, Ghoul School, Boo Brothers and Curse of the Werewolf as one continuity. Then the 90's movies, What's new and the early 2000's movies as their own continuity. Though Zombie Island could work as a continuation of the older stuff but also a pseudo reboot kind of like the 2008 Hulk movie. And Mystery Inc is it's own continuity and the direct to video movies that follow from that time are in the same continuity as Mystery Inc.

>cuckchan image

And you look at that, he can't spell for shit. Can this shitposter get any more obvious.

Well those 3 confirmed films will be out next year, so next year would be Year of Scooby, which is fitting as it's the 50th Anniversary. That's probably why the resolutions to older material got greenlit.

>2006 - 2008

it was the series that came out right before "Be Cool, Scooby-Doo"

it was called "Shaggy and Scooby Doo get a Clue", and it mainly focused on Shaggy and Scooby going on their own adventures and upgrading the mystery machine so that it could transform into different modes like a drilltank, a submarine and a jet. it was kinda weird and I only watched 2 or 3 episodes before dropping it. also there were these recurring villains that look like bond villain rejects.

I don't remember ever hearing or seeing any of this ever. What the fuck. The art style is kind of weird but I kind of like it, at least a hell of a lot more than "Be Cool." Shaggy looks more like a guy from Speed Buggy or Jabberjaw though.

he did his laundry. Turns out it was always red

>Be Cool

I never thought I'd actually appreciate Get a Clue's artstyle but damn if it doesn't look inspired in comparison

All shows and media after Cyberchase are set in their own continuity anything after that shouldn't be given much importance to timeline bullshit because after Cyberchase it marked the death of William Hanna. Including the live-action films. A Pup Named Scooby Doo's canonicity is a matter of debate, however references to their real names from that show and their family names have continued to pop up over the years in other media but any shared continuity is likely superficial with only slight parallels to the past of both continuities. So in short unless it has involvement from William Hanna and Joe Barbera it's not really relevant to whatever continuity you're trying to think up.

A Pup is non-canon and standalone, and it wasn't terribly great, only people who grew up watching it care about it.

Where Are You (original series) through The New Scooby-Doo Movies, Scooby-Doo Show and the 3 Scrappy series are all in canon, though you could argue the accuracy of the celebrity appearances, like Batman.

What's New is just the same as those but updated, so floating timeline counts.

Get a Clue does acknowledge the DTVs, so all DTVs after Cyberchase are grouped.

The first 4 DTVs, Zombie Island, Cyberchase, Witch's Ghost and Alien Invasion are together. Music of the Vampire has the Hex Girls so potentially could argue all DTVs are together, but Hex Girls can exist in multiple timelines so let's not put them together.

The live-action films, so the two theatricals and the two TV movies are together, and that was stated by production the whole way through.

Be Cool is on it's own, also. Nothing it does references other entries.

>only people who grew up watching it care about it.

I grew up with A Pup, and even I never carried for it.

> though you could argue the accuracy of the celebrity appearances, like Batman.

Not really. 1966's Batman is fairly grounded to similar limitations to the world of Scooby Doo, and there's no Superman or world-destroying beings there, with the closest being Mr. Freeze and the Minstrel. Also the Scooby Doo Show had the Addams Family which were also confirmed to exist within the Batman 66 continuity in a cameo by Lurch, so it all fits pretty well. The first four DTV films, Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invasion and Cyberchase all fit within the prime continuity and were overseen by William Hanna. One could argue that the first four DTV films are inconsistent with the old canon due to them wanting prove real monsters are out there despite having seen some real spooks in old stories, however this can be explained as them wanting video evidence of spooks which they were unable to acquire in their old adventures. The only other major inconsistency would be the slightly higher level of technology which would be a rather notable departure from the original's 60s setting, but then again Charlie the Haunted Robot was pretty damn advanced, so its not unreasonable to assume that Scoobyland was a bit more ahead than us. Also Shaggy's red shirt period fits pretty well into canon and can be treated as taking place after the gang's graduation.

You know what makes me sad. What’s considered animated movie animation today was just regular cartoon animation a couple years ago.

This is a dark age for animation.

Which, somewhat ironically, Scooby-Doo et al brought about with HB's flood of cheap animation.

I'd consider Hanna Barbara's age the dark age. Sure they were entertaining but they were at peak costcutting. This is the dark age of style, where we have very beautiful and amazing animation methods and utilities where people just refuse to use them because they contradict their art style or don't understand it.

I blame the economic crash of 2009, which never had an actual recovery period until just recently due to government incompetence.

There's also the explosive popularity of TTG and Adventure Time, which nobody predicted and everyone is trying to recapture.

File: a994e9817c96bce⋯.png (36.45 KB, 2103x396, 701:132, Scooby Doo Timeline.png)

I made a very rough timeline days ago, I'm only getting the chance to post it just now.

If you wanna marathon everything up to 13 Ghosts, you can just watch all the original shows in order of release, except for Pup, which should be at the beginning.

I bet you'll come out for some groovy treats!

It was a dark age, and there were even parodies of what it wrought, however HB in the late 70s, 80s and 90s saw a notable increase quality, probably due to other companies like Filmation posing a threat as rivals, thus forcing them to stop being lazy and up the ante. What we're seeing now though is a second dark age.

>ever since the What's new era ended

Its hard to say honestly. There's definitely been a slow yet steady improvement in quality since it ended, however Be Cool hasn't exactly been a gem in this new generation of Scooby material. I just hope the 13 Ghosts finale does justice to Vincent Pryce and Flim Flam while actually making the ghosts a more competent threat and giving that series closure.

>its Shaggy's red van

Not bad.

>Flim Flam is the same age as them

>Velma and Freddy acting like they've never seen ghosts before

Technically Fred and Velma had their first real supernatural encounter (if you don't count that one genie episode from the Scooby Doo Show since genies aren't technically ghosts) in The New Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Show's Halloween special "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" which even had Velma freaking out a little, and that show directly precedes 13 Ghosts. So all the characters should have different outfits at the start of this film.

>supposed to take place a few months or year after 13 Ghosts

>yet Daphne looks exactly the same with no outfit changes until she gets a call from Vincent

Okay… I guess she wanted to look the same for Fred when he came from college? Also if they're retiring, shouldn't their outfits look a little bit more up to date? Or have their retirement/disbandment take place before 13 Ghosts then have a timeskip in-film with them briefly reuniting only for the Crystal Ball to interrupt?

I mean most of this stuff can be ignored or worked around with some half-assed explanations, but how the fuck does Flim Flam going from 9 to 17 even happen after "a few months"?

File: 85da1b3982bba30⋯.png (163.71 KB, 302x323, 302:323, SCOOBYNO.png)

Wasn't there also like a time limit to capturing the ghosts? Like they only had one year or something to capture them before the end of the world came about? And why would the chest be in the Himalayas instead of with Shaggy? They didn't have any reason to get rid of it since they still had one more ghost to catch, so it should still be with the crystal ball.

> "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" which even had Velma freaking out a little

I remember that special, but their reactions to the real monsters didn't seem all that strong. More like "wow I didn't expect to see some real monsters on this particular day". It wasn't that shocking to them (unless my memory is crap), if so then this film fits well with that. The only real issue Flim-Flam's age, but chances are they'll just dismiss that as him having a major growth spurt since I don't recall the original show ever stating his age. He could easily pass off for a premature 13 year old. Those little bastards can have some pretty freaky spurts.

At least give Cyber Chase a fair rating. Its not the best of the golden Pre-What's New era, but it delivers on some quality cameos and references. Its probably a decent 7/10.

>Legend of the Vampire and Monster of Mexico

Are you out of your fucking mind? Those two were complete garbage only made worse by their shitty understanding of lore and monsters of said regions the films take place. They're easily a 3/10 and 4/10.

>Loch Ness Monster

Bullshit. That one was honestly one of the more decent ones and deserves at most a 5/10.

>Where's My Mummy?

Oddly enough this one was actually okay. I disliked it, but I recognize that it had more effort put into it than the previous ones. Velma being revealed to be the final boss was interesting. 5/10 or 6/10

>Pirates Ahoy

Crap all the way, although the surprise twist was a bit interesting. Still crap overall. Fred's parents got a lot of attention for some reason. 3/10

>Chill Out, Scooby Doo

0/10 Would not even let my hamster shit on it.

>Goblin King

3/10 Only good things I can say about it was the somewhat slight improvements in music and animation plus Velma's reaction to the whole thing being amusing. But the setting and characters were all obnoxious.

>Samurai Sword

I lost interest 15 minutes in and just kinda skipped through most parts after that. The dragon was cool though. 3/10

>Abracadabra Doo

>(plus the animation was gorgeous)

What are you, gay? That shit deserves a 10/10.

>everything else

Dude the real suit is hot enough, no need to post an R34 of it.

You are right though, if you can see beyond Velma's tits the damn thing is hilarious and entertaining.

But I just think Zombie Island and Witches Ghost have something no movie has achieved again, it might be nostalgia but i think it is a true cinematic feel, and the ability to still be Scooby-Doo while being able to take itself entirely, 100% seriously.

If anything the Mystery Incorporated series was even closer than most DTVs to Zombie Island but the weak romance at the beginning and some lame monsters made it obviously episodic and broke the cinematography.

Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost definitely feel cinematic. That shit could've been in theaters in the late 80s and it would've blown people the fuck out back then. Also the cat demon bitches were pretty hawt and Witch's Ghost would never fly in today's politically heated environment. Tim Curry outdid himself in that one, then again he always does, with the exception of Scary Movie 2 of course…

We truly are living in strange times. Making a pseudo ending to a series that was canned decades ago, and bringing back the celebrity guess star series.

When did they bring back the Scooby Show? Or do you mean they brought back the same format with films about Supernatural, WWE and Batman?

Kids loved Scrappy. It's mainly the overbearing faggots in Scooby Doo fandom that hate him. If he's not in this movie, fuck this shit. I'm not seeing it.

The first thing Scooby-Doo I saw was Ghoul School, I never hated Scrappy but even I noticed he was a sore tumb and I was 7.

At 11 I realized Shaggy could be swimming in supernatural pussy if it wasn't for his cockblocking and generally being a cancer that received all the attention from the students.

They're bringing back the New Scooby-Doo movies style show back.

>Faced with some of their toughest mysteries yet, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo will join forces with some of the biggest names in celebrity and pop culture including NBA superstar Chris Paul, recording artists Halsey and Sia, Ricky Gervais, Kenan Thompson, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mark Hamill, Steve Urkel (voiced by Jaleel White reprising his iconic role) Batman, SHERLOCK Holmes, The Flash, Wonder Woman and many more!

The one thing I actually liked about Scrappy is that he bothered to fight the monsters. Personally, I'm just surprised they never tried to kill the bad guys. Most of the time they're crooks in masks and the gang could claim self defense as the crooks try to chase them and kill them.

Interesting. The artstyle doesn't seem too big of a departure from Mystery Inc but still it's own thing. I'm a little bit iffy on Velma's face but it could be good. The one concern I have is Neil Degrasse Tyson, he could become insufferable in the crossover so hopefully they don't let him sperg out over innacuracies.

>ricky gervais

>bill nye

>black science man

>mark hamill

Yep it's gonna be shit pozzed to hell and back.

What's wrong with Ricky Gervais and Mark Hamill?

Ricky is incredibly unfunny and Mark has been whipped into shape by Disney to be their good boy that doesn't criticize Star Wars.

None of those are considered pozzed anymore.

Bill Nye hosted a climate change denier and got disavowed and black listed, Black Science Man did Joe Rogan and is now considered a white supremecist neo nazi, Mark Hamill is the face of the white man's star wars after he denounced the new movies, and Ricky Gervais has always been problematic.

They're still reddit tier though.

>second dark age

2nd was the 90s with a flood of disposable toy shows.

This would be the 3rd.

That timeline is stupid as What's New promotional material states they're all the same age as they were in Where Are You.

Stop trying to force timelines on this show, it doesn't have one.

I thought the 80's was the one with the shows that were toy commercials.

Goblin King was good, like 7/10 easily.

KISS should be a 10/10.

Gourmet Ghost is pretty shitty because of the forced celebrity appearances. Maybe 5/10. Could be a lot better if they only had Bobby Flay and got rid of Giada, as she got way too much of a focus for no real reason. She just appears then Mary Sues every encounter.

Blue Falcon was very good, but not one of the greatest.

Ricky is probably the worst mainstream comedian there is.

His entire gimmick is "dude religion bad lmao ps i'm always drunk xd".

Gets really boring after 5 minutes.

Sorry, I was editing my post to clean it up and fucked up hard.

I meant to talk about DIC Entertainment in the 80s and 90s as well as the toy cash ins that every studio was producing.

DIC was HB-tier fuck up with many of their shows, and similarly had a few good shows that people enjoyed, but still, by and large most of their shows were generic and boring.

Give all the shit you want to modern day animation, but at least it's not being destroyed by a single studio pumping out tonnes of garbage every year. Instead, it's lots of studios pumping out garbage, so at least there's a chance one of them might get their shit together.

>Ricky is probably the worst mainstream comedian there is.

>His entire gimmick is "dude religion bad lmao ps i'm always drunk xd".

>Gets really boring after 5 minutes.

Yeah, which is why he's problematic. He denounces religion, SJWs are very pro religion when it suits them.

>SJWs are very pro religion when it suits them

I assumed they were against it, but I guess that's where "when it suits them" comes in.

I never saw him as a sore thumb. More of as a really irrelevant element that never really added or took away from anything. With or without him, shit would proceed the same way. So he wasn't bad or good. Just there. And that's really boring. But kids loved the attitude apparently.

>Scooby with modern celebrities

>Ricky Gervais

>Bill Nye "The Gender Spectrum Guy"

>Black Science Man

>DC heroes with superpowers

There goes my optimism for the Scooby franchise.

Ricky is just flat out unfunny. Same for Black Science Man, but at least Black Science Man can play along. Bill Nye though would probably spend most of the episode being more of a buzzkill than Velma but without the sexy curves and glasses. Seriously what has Gervais even done lately aside from some really shitty stand up and helping to tank the Muppet franchise with his awful solo songs?

Only when it concerns Islam. Buddhism was also popular with them until the lama talked shit about muslims.

>Seriously what has Gervais even done lately

Regardless of that, he and Tyson have actually managed to maintain a pretty steady reputation among their respective crowds that covers a wider range of shit, unlike Nye who is only a one-note hack whose shit has been outright mocked and criticized from all sides. All he's done aside from his awful Netflix show is a commercial for the Nintendo LABO (which somehow sold 1 million copies worldwide despite being criticized for having some of the most lackluster and dead end games imaginable with the only ones with replayability being the piano one). Bill Nye just goes around saying "fuck" and "shit" a lot in a desperate attempt to fit in while pretending to be a legitimate scientist. Even Black Science Man is slightly more qualified than him, and just saying that makes me ill. These types of overrated celebrities wouldn't even work within the Scoobyverse, especially when you're gonna bring in shit like Flash into the mix.

I never watched the Supernatural crossover because I frankly hate the show, but now I have more reason than ever to be irrationally sad and angry.

I feel like most Scooby-Doo incarnations could be grouped under a "Standard Continuity" due to the episodic nature of the franchise in general, not counting shit like the live-action films, Get a Clue, Mystery Incorporated, and Scooby Apocalyse.

Mystery Inc. already met Batman in The New Scooby-Doo Movies and Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold and has met with various DC and Hanna-Barbera characters in the Scooby-Doo! Team-Up comics. Why is them teaming up with DC characters a problem now?

We're talking about within the context of an episodic Scooby show, not a DTV film. The comics have also been big events. A short 24 minute story involving the Flash is too over the top with such a powerful character at their side. With Batman it works because he doesn't have powers. In the Scooby Doo Movies, one episode had a powerful genie at their disposal, but that works because the character spends the majority of that time imprisoned in a bottle and thus can't solve shit easily. The mystery could involve them trying to figure out what happened to the Flash, but the whole point of the shitty celebrity premise is to have the guest regularly be involved with the gang throughout the episode. Having Flash be stuck somewhere until the end hardly makes him feels like a proper guest star. With the genie one it works because she's not the actual star of her show, her master is.

The only thing interesting I could see with the Flash is him using his skills as a CSI but I'm not sure how far that'll go.

File: c950b68eff6af10⋯.jpg (49.07 KB, 393x345, 131:115, Chris-Straw.jpg)

Supernatural is good fun for season 1 to 5 and 9 and if it's a comedy episode is usually fun regardless the season. Everything else is shit.

It was ok, Is odd because the episode is based around a classic Scooby episode but the cast has the personality they've more of less been having since the Mystery Incorporated series once the shit kicks in. You know autistic Fred, sweet Daphne, assertive Velma and not so incompetent Scooby and Shaggy.

I mean, who would you put that's actually famous?

Those designs look pretty good.

Gordon Ramsey.

Hence why the Supernatural DTV is probably my least favorite of the new DTVs. Supernatural itself was interesting for me until season 3.

David Cross actually did it once on Adult Swim. Ozzy would likely do it as would Adam Sandler, but Sandler would just be a dick and demand some product placements and for them to force David Spade somewhere in there. I'd honestly prefer to have more of vid-related

I always wondered why Sandler kept shoving product placements into his work? From what I heard the companies that he shoves in there don't even want to be in his work.

I mean wtf is the point of continuing 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo without Scrappy? Scrappy was popular and helped the show survive. It's like they think they can retcon history just because of 45 year old fanboy butt hurt that the show just didn't recycle the same stale format.

Well, that was disappointing. I'll check it out later. Have it qued on a streaming pirate site. If I got anything interesting to say about it, I'll say it here. I'm guessing it'll be average and won't have much to offer in commentary though.

Fuck was it terrible, spoilers ahoy.

I really wanted to like this movie but the entire premise is a sham, you can't do a follow up to a show whose entire premise is that it has real ghosts in it and have it be a regular scooby doo hoax. The movie tries to appease the autists by making it so that the original series could have been real, but that's missing the point, the 13 ghosts was a very different show with a different premise and they should totally have kept that instead of trampling over it for god knows what reason.

Also the humor keeps falling flat again and again, god, Fred was getting on my nerves the entire movie.

Finally, the fucking avalanche just wouldn't fucking stop holy shit, it's really obvious they were just doing it to pad out the movie, after a whole minute of surfing snow the movie cuts to the A plot and when it cuts back they're STILL running away from the avalanche and they do it for another minute! and then THEY DO IT AGAIN. A SECOND AVALANCHE STARTS AND THE SEQUENCE REPEATS A SECOND TIME.

If you want to know watch it just for the closure don't bother, just know that the 13th ghost was Vincent Van Ghoul's ancestor who was an evil wizard but is now seeking redemption by acting as Vincent's guardian angel, so when they captured the 12 ghosts in the original series they were already done without even knowing it.

The ghosts weren't illusions; that was just an explanation Velma cooked up. The only "fake ghost" was Asmodeus/Asamad Van Ghoul, who was really just Mortifer, but the real Chest of Demons was never opened in the film, and Asamad's wish for redemption was made up by Velma, so ghosts could still be real. It's just left ambiguous.

>let's retire for some reason!

>ghosts aren't real!

>oh by the way, here's Vincent Price literally contacting the gang through a magic crystal ball

>also the 13 Ghosts series apparently happened which means that ghosts totally are real and none of them should doubt this shit

>OH BOY FLIMFLAM IS BACK fucking kill me

>by the way, Daphne is now a tough badass who takes charge and kicks all the ass and also wears a leather jacket and snarks off at all the silly antics of her friends, because it's CURRENT YEAR +4

That's not the point, the point is that 13 ghosts was about facing super powerful ghosts with ingenuity and trickery, if they wanted to do another regular scooby doo hoax they shouldn't have used the original show as a way to rope in people who wanted a conclusion. Besides, it's hard to say it's left ambiguous when the movie does absolutely everything in it's power to favor the skeptic view, they didn't even let Vincent Price do any magic.

I never understood why everyone hated Flim Flam, he's not worse than Scrappy in my opinion.

Except Shaggy, Scooby, Daphne, Vincent, and Flim-Flam remember the 13 ghosts, and the Chest of Demons was never opened. They might have made it so the skeptic view was a valid viewpoint, but they never outright de-confirmed the existence of ghosts.

Is it really that bad in itself? Has the 10 year old streak of serviceable movies, at worst, ended?

Scrappy isn't bad when it's just him, Scooby, Shaggy and the random character. Is when the other more collected members of the gang are present when he looks like a fucking annoying maniac.

>he's not worse than Scrappy in my opinion.

That's exactly the problem. It's a show with two Scrappy Doos.

>let's retire for some reason!

To set up the events of Zombie Island, I assume?

>the movie does absolutely everything in it's power to favor the skeptic view

Again, it sounds like they're doing their best to make the movie consistent with zombie island. By giving the gang plausible deniability, so their skepticism when they're dealing with supernatural stuff in the movie is less jarring.

I know it seems far-fetched they'd go so far out of their way to make this movie work as a prequel for Zombie Island, but considering the fact that they're making a direct sequel to it it makes sense.

>make this movie work as a prequel for Zombie Island

Where are you getting this from?

File: c2601577a38cc7f⋯.jpg (302.85 KB, 1680x1050, 8:5, scooby-doo-63.jpg)

I was not happy with this… I was not happy with this at all… and I'm not trying to sound smug, I'm genuinely sad and disappointed with how this turned out… I was looking forward to this so much. I was expecting something that would be on par with the Batman Crossover or least some of the previous DTV movies but this was just… shit. It didn't even make sense. And they even had to go out of their way to shit on Vincent Price.

If they wanted this to be a prequel to zombie island, they could have just had Vincent memory wipe them at the end with a stupid spell or something. But even then it doesn't matter because this movie is just horribly mediocre even if they did fix the inconsistencies. They do their damnedest to create some illusion of continuiti and really this movies and consistent with not only the 13 Ghosts but with a lot of other shit, like The New Adventures of Scooby-Doo which explained that Fred had gone off to become a writer and Vilma has gone off to become a scientist after graduation. So they could have had this movie take place after Zombie Island. But like I said continuity doesn't matter because this movie is just really poorly written, which sadly ends the streak of good Scooby movies we've been having.

If this had turned out good, I was really hoping they would make a sequel to Ghoul School, but now I really hope they stay far away from it.

I recently watched Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost and Alien Invaders again. Can anyone tell me which of the other DTV movies are worth watching?

l don't think we will see Scrappy again after Gunn sacrificing him for a edgy joke.

Cyber Chase is alright, not as good as the earlier ones, but worth watching for that last segment with the virtual versions of the Mystery Inc. gang. I haven't watched much of them after that, but I've heard the Kiss and WWE crossovers are worth watching.

Nigga, quit that crying shit. It wasn't that bad. It certainly could have been better, but it was an adequate conclusion/continuation of the 13 Ghosts.

After the Brave and the Bold crossover you'd think they would've put more effort in this one.

>Steve Urkel (voiced by Jaleel White reprising his iconic role)

Yes, that's the one we're all excited about. Thank God it's not an imposter.

So what do you all think of the Scoob cast so far? What are the chances it isn't a trainwreck?

Scooby-Doo = Frank Welker

Fred = Zac Efron

Daphne = Amanda Seyfried

Velma = Gina Rodriguez

Shaggy = Will Forte

Captain Caveman = Tracy Morgan

Dee Dee Skyes = Kiersey Clemons

Dynomutt = Ken Jeong

Not exactly. The BatB crossover was a painstaking passion project spreadheaded by the original creator of the show as both a loving tribute to the show he created and a love letter to the fans of the series. Of course it was going to have more effort put into it than the usual Scooby Doo flick.

This movie was a "wouldn't it be cool if we tied up this loose end in the franchise?" and it was based on a part of the franchise most fans liked the least and felt completely different than the rest of the show. Considering the material they had to work with, they did a decent job.

should have been

Scooby-Doo = Eddie Murphy

Fred = Eddie Murphy

Daphne = Eddie Murphy

Velma = Eddie Murphy

Shaggy = Eddie Murphy

Captain Caveman = Will Smith

Dee Dee Skyes = Eddie Murphy

Dynomutt = Eddie Murphy

What are some things you'd like to see crossover with Scooby-Doo? Pic related are a few of mine.

I am almost certain that Evilrella had a crossover with Scooby doo at some point. Archie probably too.

anon, are you having a stroke?

Is that not how you spell her name? Evilrella: Mistress of the Dark

No, Anon, that's not how you spell it.

That's her evil doppelganger.

>Velma = Gina Rodriguez

l think you mean Daniella Pineda

Also, Daphne should be Bryce Dallas, not discount bomb eye Emma Stone

Hot garbage.

They had the cast they knew worked well and gave the jobs away to all but Welker, then wasted money by bringing in celebrities. Didn't even tell them until the press release of the new cast.

Film actors =/= voice actors just because you want the name attached to the project.

Just show me the designs for this film and the new tv series so I can decide if this 50th anniversary is worth caring for anymore.

At least Zombie Island 2 and KISS Rock and Roll Mystery 2 are almost finished and ready for release.

>Fred = Zac Efron

Guess Frank Welker wasn't available huh
