What are some good things to come out of bad adaptations of /co/ material?

Watching Ben Affleck heart-breakingly realize that playing Batman in a crappy movie won't make up for destroying his children's sense of emotional security.

Everyone who has ever watched Man of Steel has a greater understanding of the essential elements of story-telling due to it's complete lack of those elements.

Elaborate?

Eventually, vapidly pandering to demographics in the name of diversity will take its toll, and no longer make money. Eventually, the market will become so super-saturated with diversity that everyone, not just us, will become tired of it. When that finally comes, we'll experience a full backswing and see a host of characters that make a point to be good characters REGARDLESS of their demographic, rather than trying to do so BECAUSE of it, and entirely through it. We'll get John Stewarts and Static Shocks, not America Chavez.

Monkey's paw, brah. We'll see a backlash and a backswing, all right, but it'll be as stupid and superficial as the diversity fad right now. For a swing towards craftsmanship and creativity would require a paradigm shift more fundamental than, say, the advent of the Internet and webcomics.

Everything is cyclic, it's true, but the left/right axis isn't tied to the quality/zombie axis. That oscillation is on a much slower cadence, and we'll see the politics wheel turn and turn before we ever see an overall trend towards good comics, if at all within our lifetimes.

Affleck has three kids and he fucked their nanny behind their mother's back. It resulted in a divorce and Affleck took the Batman role almost purely as a way to rebuild his relationship with his children. He'd drive them around in the Bat-mobile, steal props from set to give them as gifts, dress as Batman for his kid's birthday, and the whole thing was pathetically sad.

>Affleck took the Batman role almost purely as a way to rebuild his relationship with his children.

Didn't he do it to cover costs of divorce, alimony, or other money trouble? Affleck even said in the past:

<"God help me if I ever do another movie with an explosion in it," Affleck winces. "If you see me in a movie where stuff is exploding you'll know I've lost all my money."

I could not find the original interview I remember seeing years ago.

I think you both are also missing the fact Afleck is a HUGE Batman fan.

Him and Kevin Smith go way back and Smith shared a ton of stories about how much they enjoyed Batman, like when they drove several miles to get their copies of Killing Joke and were reading it on the drive back.

It's probably like this:

>I like Batman

>My dumb ass kids like Batman because what fucktard kid doesn't like Batman?

>I need money

>Kill all these birds with one stone

>huge batman fan

>becomes a batman that defies every single virtue batman stands for even the batman his version is based on

I just cannot fathom the logic.

Maybe it was the writing? That's the only explanation I can think of.

Dawn of justice was directed by Zack Snyder, so yes.

I'm talking about the whole marvel cinemadick universe in general, not Iron Man 1 in particular.

Well yeah but it's still pretty dumb to pick a role like that when you know it's not anything like the character should be. Maybe Affleck didn't wanna fight about it with Snyder because he's just that fucking desperate.

 No.1046605

>>1046516

Well, he didn't write it. And he got to do at least one actually watachable movie as Batman, at least.
