Why did they do Grinning Potatoes for most of both parts, but then saved something similar to the older style for the end?

It should have ended right after cancer killed the green sweeter. It had a good run though; while the show was never that funny, it served as a beacon in the 'flash community' and Edd's creativity always showed.

I remember there was one really fucking funny animation that came out right after he died with him talking to his friends on a hospital bed making his recovery. It ended with 'get well soon', which had me cackling. Don't know who made it, though.

Wow, some of this animation is not all that good.

In fact, I'd say it's kinda lackluster.

Some of the visual gags are okay, though.

I still have no idea what this series is about.

I thought his writing was great. It was the made for TV presentation during his run I couldn't stand. This latest episode is the best one in years. I actually laughed several times

The issue with Tom doing the new EW stuff is that he's got a massive fucking ego and no one to reign it in.

Take the role of Edd, for example. I get that his friend died and he wanted to respect him, but he faded right into the background, becoming a one note character, while Tom made himself the new "straight man" of the show.

Especially with The End, it shows just how much Tom has changed things to feed his ego.

Tom steals jokes and ideas from other creators, he also gets more money from Eddsworld than his own content and even then his content is just re-written shit.

Tom is also an asshole, this is proved as his relationship to Tord is one of the reasons why he was forced to leave. Another reason is that he doesn't pay animators or he puts there transaction on hold for a long ass time. I think there was something related to Oney about that.

He is also really egotistic which is no surprise since as a kid he pestered Edd to be in the fucking show. He has also made himself new protagonist.

Eddsworld should of stopped or had one final episode when Edd passed away. Edd knew what the show was actually about, him and his friends going on random journeys. Tom thinks it's about the main character doing random shit and saying "funny" things, which is Tom himself.

Actually, Tord said it was the rabid fans of Eddsworld that caused him to leave. To this day, he literally lives in hiding, because said fans are that bad.

The reason Tord was evil and Tom was good wasn't because of Tom's ego. To him, the character and real-life people are different entities. The End is less a typical Eddsworld adventure, and more a metaphorical representation of Tom's run on the show.

Tord was the cancer that killed Edd and destroyed all the plans Tom and Edd had made together. Tom was the lost and angry soul responsible for rebuilding Eddsworld.

For what it's worth, Tom hopes that the real Tord didn't take it so personally, wherever he is.

Metaphorically. The Tord in The End isn't meant to represent the real-life Tord, but the tandem that death can cause when it claims the life of loved ones. It was this tandem that made Tom decide to keep Eddsworld and Edd's world spinning.

The End is meant to be an idealogical representation of Tom moving on from the show. It hurt him to make Eddsworld, because he felt it was his responsibility to Edd. At the same time, he had to voice act with someone who played the part of his fictional best friend.
