Though we don't see it in the west, Japan does superheroes (nearly wrote "superherpes", I wouldn't have been entirely wrong) too.

This looks just like a Shonen Jump series that has been inexplicably farmed out to a western animation company. Cod-"European" backdrops and all.

I've seen several episodes of this and looks like a weird combination of Spiderman, Sailor Moon, and Jackie Chan's Adventures.

Has a super villain of the week thing, with a plot underneath it. Though episodes of the actual story are far and few between. We might've gotten maybe 3 actual episodes of relevant story. The only part worth watching is Ladybug's transformation.

If it least looks interesting to you just watch a few episodes to see if you like it or not.

It's really a show aimed at young girls but the more rabid fans seem to be teenage girls and young women because of shipping.

The first season is just villian of the week episodes. You won't get a lot of background information until the last three episodes of the season. The season is just about the characters than a overarcing plot.
