The first one was shit there, I said it, and Disney should have never resurrected itself with dark mermaid magic after blowing so much money on it. Already, the standard clickbait sites are saying "the Prydain books are the best ever!" in a thinly-veiled attempt to advertise the idea to millennials who wouldn't have run out of the first movie's test screenings and won't actually read the books.

This isn't a knock on the books; it's just that Disney should have gotten Lighthearted YA High Fantasy right the first time instead of waiting for Dark and Serious High Fantasy of the Tolkien and Martin varieties to precede it.
