eh, I liked it but I wouldn't go that far. It still had a lot of problems that persisted throughout the series run. Human characters that barely contributed to the story other than having those emotional moments or being human is distress. Those 3 kids barely grew up from what they started out as. They kind of faded into the background by the final season when they realized that transformers were the main focus, which is good and bad depending on what you wanted out of the series.
The war aspect was kind of flakey in the beginning as they searched for the magic tool of the week or new decepticon for the moment. It did have the best version of arcee. Even if it worked off the transformers movie, it still turned out good. I think I remember the backgrounds being kind of muddy or lacking textures because it felt desaturated at times and just hard to look at. Needed to get out of that canyon, desert background a lot more.
I'd give it a 6/10. Enjoyable but had some room for improvement.

I guess you're entitled to that opinion. Still, it's a lot better than a majority of kids cartoons during its run.

This.
Short tie black man was a really good human character and deserved more exposure, and so did Silas.
Actually, I would have been really happy if instead of a Unicron finale we got a Silas finale.

Not really, they squeezed in more toys, but the writing was still competent, and characters were still likable. Entire series was filled with mcguffin chasing, from start to finish, though. If that annoys you, well, it never really changes

We can't have nice things anon. You know this. We can only enjoy these happy accidents briefly before trudging through shit like sausage party and season 20 of family guy before we get to our next batch of breathable air.
Why do you think shows like gravity falls or games like undertale get such huge fanbases? Because they are so good? Or because everything else is so bad people cling to these little points of good in a turbulent perpetual shit storm that is popular media.

I liked it much better than the current Robots in Disguise. RiD is such an ugly show, with a mix of CG and 2D that does not mesh well, and the humans are even worse than the three kids from Prime.

Personally I felt that towards the latter half of the seasons the show tipped too heavily towards the Auto-Bots favor.
Like one thing I found bullshit was how Bumblebee comes back alive and is able to finish off Megatron, and they played up his death then just immediately undid it.
In general though it felt like most of the Decepticons stopped being threats to ANY of the Autobots in the later seasons.
Shockwave for instance was going nearly toe-to-toe with Bumblebee and Smokescreen before during the fight for some Predacon DNA while he was getting his ass kicked by Ultra Magnus who recently lost his hand to Predaking.

Wheeljack is a walking proof that you cannot make a perfect assumption on what kind of character a certain transformer is going to be in a new reboot.
So there is no way of knowing if Cliff would have been at all a good character. He is not present for long enough to establish a solid personality or story.
So for all intents and purposes, you're complaining "there was no character named Johnny in the show!"

That and Cliffjumper was voiced by The Rock. Think the idea was meant to be killing him off to establish how dire the stakes are. Though they kinda underuse that.
Prime used what it had well, but I think it was another victim of the CGI trap; they can't make many characters or even extras because of all the effort that goes into new assets.

You must have watched it as a kid and never looked back. That's the only reason I can think of as to why you'd think that it was anything besides headache inducing garbage.
At least Energon had the courtesy to start out coherent and interesting before devolving into nonsense about creating stars and cities and alternate universes. Armada couldn't give two fucks if it made sense or was any good.

no, actually, I'm having a hard time thinking of any piece of fiction ever that would have a plot inferior to armada.
I'm pretty sure that a roll of grey toilet paper has a story superior to armada.
Let me ask you a question: when was the last time you watched this show? Because I too had fond memories of both armada and energon from my childhood, and about a year ago I decided to refresh them.
I watched entirety of armada and I can say it was one of the worst cartoon experiences I've had in a long time.
The plot was barely present, most of the episodes being filler, and when it was around, it was incoherent. Not as incoherent as Energon, but unfortunately, more boring.
The only good thing about the show is Starscream's turn to the good side and his sacrifice, and it is by far overpraised by the fandom. It the actual show, it was rushed and didn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
