Why? It's awful. I will say the poses are dynamic, but that's literally all it has going for it. There's practically no inking to speak of - just crappy unfinished outlines. And the colouring is a poor attempt at minimalism that completely misunderstands minimalism, all the while being a total mismatch style-wise for the pencils. They've clearly just done it because that's what everyone and their mentally disabled wives over at marvel are doing.

Can't remember why though, maybe I spent too much on other comics? Wow, way to take a potentially interesting concept and just go down the most stereotypical route possible under the delusion that in doing so you're going against stereotypes.
It's a shame too because honestly piracy is a international phenomenon, yet the only pirates that ever get depicted are hyper-romanticised ones from this one specific area and time. If you wanted you've got plenty of material to base a comic based off of Muslim/Asian/African pirates on, potentially even with evidence for having female crew but obviously they just had to go for the one form of pirate that gets portrayed every single time someone does something on pirates, swap the genders around and then make everything all about how they've made this one change so suddenly it's ground breaking.

Are they actually any good comics/books/movies about Asian/Muslim/African pirates in the past? I know there are modern African pirates, and that non-West-Indie pirates had a little bit of screentime in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The only example I can think of is the Korean movie "The Pirates" (great film by the way I recommend it.)
It's a real shame. I'd actually love to read about "diverse" characters in historical settings, but everyone just takes the well trodden and familiar European stuff and jams non-Euros into it.
I'd like to read a story about two African tribes going to war, making use of all sorts of flashy pagan magics to destroy their enemies or an a story about a group of traders from all over the old world trying to make loads of dosh on the silk road while trying to evade bandits, tyrants, and the ravages of the road.
But all we get is "Hey, here is the same Rebellious Princess story we've seen since SNES jRPGs, but now with a new coat of black paint."
