Going off of the Teen Titans designs, it's dead in the water already.

Titans looks like DC's version of the train wreck that were Inhumans. Other than that, I hope that animated series will be good. Harley Quinn had decent promo/concept art. If they animate it properly, the series will at least look good.

>plenty more to come

Better be backlog film and tv access. In reality, it'll be some digital-only titles like that Wonder Woman wedding one.

>swamp thing

Just to spit on the grave a little bit more.

>us only

Either means they will be having a backlog of things to watch and they can only get licensing for the US, or it means they want to exclude potential customers and make everyone outside the US pirate it.

Jesus, I think DC is really overestimating their appeal here. Launching three new imprints, trying to keep their sinking cinematic universe afloat, and now a fucking streaming service? How many people do you think are really gonna go out of their way and subscribe to a service to watch Swamp Thing: The Series?

File: 17a8d9c4e71c0b6⋯.jpg (46.84 KB, 680x422, 340:211, 17a8d9c4e71c0b68c3fd047f2d….jpg)

Holy fuck, their maing a show about Harley Quinn. How creativly bankrupt can the b-

>Swamp Thing

They're hardly imprints as they're just going to print the same shit that would have otherwise been from their main outlet.

They'll license the original shows to international Netflix or whatever

I was originally laughing at what a terrible idea this entire service was, but I didn't realize they actually had more than one show being made for it. This might be successful, but they need to do one of two things. Either have access to every DC show made previous, like the DCAU, or ONLY have the new shows their making, and have it be it's own comic-verse. Oh wait, Robin is in both Young Justice and Titan, nevermind it's going to fail horribly

That explains it. Last time I heard something about Young Justice was that Netflix had bought the show and was producing the third season.

I don't know if I want the Swamp Thing show to be good, or slip under the radar, so Swamp Thing doesn't become a normalfag meme character.

>How many people do you think are really gonna go out of their way and subscribe to a service to watch Swamp Thing: The Series?

They're really just following the leads of other companies and TV networks trying to establish their own streaming service. It was inevitable as soon as Netflix and Hulu became competitors to them instead of just middle-men.

I can only guess they're holding off Cyborg since they really want him to be a main DC guy… and he's hard to pull off on a TV budget

>and he's hard to pull off on a TV budget

I'm pretty sure it's entirely because their trying to make Cyborg into a head-liner. Even in the comics, he's now "leader" of the Justice League, and his powers are from fusing with a motherbox to make him more powerful. I don't really mind it, even though it's obviously forced for diversity's sake. At least they're using a hero who's been around for a long awhile and has some fans rather than a Doughnut-Steal OC

They're sweetening the pot for that AT&T merger.

I can't imagine who'll they'll get to play him.

I don't know anyone who'll want to live in swamp monster makeup outside of Ron Perleman and Doug Jones.

You mean the one that might not even happen due to the US Government?

Swamp Thing used to be fairly well known among normalfags throughout the 80s and 90s. I used to love him as a kid. He had two movies, a cartoon, a toy line, and a live action TV show that had like 70 episodes. Hell, they even used him in anti littering PSAs. I doubt most people knew he was a comic character, but there was a period where he was definitely in the public consciousness.

They haven't even pulled the trigger on that deal, it's early days yet

Doom Patrol (2019, live-action)

>written by Jeremy Carver

>co-executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Carver, and Sarah Schechter

Doom Patrol is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

>There’s no indication from the announcement whether the actors cast in the Doom Patrol roles for Titans — Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl, Jake Michaels as Robotman and Dwain Murphy as Negative Man — will carry over into the spinoff.

Got a 13-episode order.

File: ffd0f3ab8cbb959⋯.png (148.44 KB, 344x524, 86:131, 1443116608153.png)

First Swamp Thing, now Doom Patrol. Why are they doing this? Swamp Thing would probably work much better as a movie, especially now in the wake of a success that was the Shape of Water.

Doom patrol either has to be made into an animated series or CGI-heavy live action if they are planning to properly adapt comics or at least tackle some of the more esoteric themes and represent Negative man's ability properly. Casting is not that bad, aside from Murphy. It would not be an issue if they just kept him bandaged up, but knowing the film/TV industry, that certainly won't be the case. Casting directors at DC/WB must really hate gingers for some reason.

I bet that they will use the early 2000s version as the main inspiration. Only good thing about that series were backup Metal Men stories that came in most issues.

There is nothing sadder than a miscarriage.

Rhesus pieces.

>Shape of Water

>Del Taco wanted to work on a Justice League Dark and Swamp Thing movie

>Warner Kikes says no

>Proceeds to make a Creature from the Black Lagoon erotica movie to critical acclaim

They should have accepted, only in turn because they desperately need to increase the ratings on the DCEU.

I always thought that make up job was surprisingly good for a 80's b movie

>DC Universe is apparently eyeing an August launch date. Will include comics (!!), older animated series', as well as original productions. According to DC Entertainment community manager, Dani Snow.

Marvel Unlimited: DC Edition? DCAU? First episode of Titans to be available on launch?

>P.S. she also says it includes movies. So pretty much everything DC should be on this platform.

The entirety of DC's live-action movies (from Superman onward), and direct-to-video animated films?

The full quote from the linked podcast episode:

>"I work at DC Comics, DC Entertainment and we are about to launch, I think late August our DC Digital platform, which would be a hub for all things DC. There will be Digital Movies, TV Shows you can watch (streaming). We are gonna have lot of comics on there. There is gonna be a lot of good stuff there. Right now we are we are working on getting everything from the back-catalog, like animated tv shows & movies on there now. We will also be producing, I think right now we have 4 in production (original shows) including Swamp Thing. Which a lot of people are really excited about since it’s horror title (live-action). I don’t know if it’s being cast "

That's all from her.

That outfit actually looks pretty good.

Now it's time for us to only see it twice each season for 4 minutes total.

I wonder how much brighter that red is when they take it out of the grimdark mood lighting.

And it's grimdark tacticool. Great. Just looks worse and worse.

Grimdark tacticool is perfect for Jason Todd's Red Hood. And now that I have said that, this show could have been a decent Red Hood and the Outlaws. Don't do any character that requires green or orange skin. And go lean into the edge.

The outfit is still probably the best out of what we have seen out of the show, like what they did to Starfire.

Donna Troy and Jason Todd for Titans now confirmed; first ten episodes reportedly releasing in one fell swoop.

Most of my experience with comic books comes from the boxes my dad had in the attic, but I remember the Doom Patrol more fondly than traditional superheroes because they were ordinary people who "had greatness thrust upon them," so to speak. It was neat seeing Joe Average be crippled for life, but able to phase through stuff as Negative Man, even if he could only do it for a minute at a time; the powers the group had were so bizarre and wacky it made the grisly premise a lot more fun.

This'll be grimdark shit with way too many special effects, yet another mature reboot for mature comic readers such as myself. I hate seeing big companies act ashamed of source material like this.

>Vic Stone has been a member of both the Teen Titans and the Justice League, but he’s soon to add another team affiliation to his resume—the Doom Patrol.

>Warner Bros. Television made the inarguably cool announcement today that Joivan Wade will be joining the Doom Patrol TV series cast in the role as Cyborg, the half-human, half-machine former football star who has quickly grown to become one of the most recognizable and beloved heroes in the DC Universe.

>Doom Patrol’s take on the classic character seems to be right in line with what fans of the comics will be expecting. Described as charming and sarcastic, Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age.

>Since his debut in DC COMICS PRESENTS back in 1980, Cyborg has leapt from the page to screens of all types. He first appeared on television in 1985’s Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians before eventually going on to hold a prominent role in both the original Teen Titans animated series and the current Teen Titans Go! He’s also made numerous appearances DC’s various animated movie lines, including the just-released LEGO DC Super Heroes: Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis. As for live action, Doom Patrol will be his second TV appearance, after making his live action debut in a memorable episode of Smallville. And of course, he was notably portrayed by actor Ray Fisher in last year’s Justice League.

>Cyborg’s role in Doom Patrol promises to be much meatier, though exactly what form it will take is still uncertain. In the show’s description, it’s suggested that the Doom Patrol will be called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with “a mission that’s hard to refuse, but with a warning that’s hard to ignore.” Whether he’ll be a formal part of the team alongside already announced cast members April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane is uncertain at this time.

>Joivan Wade is an English actor who has worked consistently in British TV, notably with a multi-episode role on the popular soap EastEnders and a memorable appearance on Doctor Who. However, his most prominent recent appearance was in this summer’s The First Purge. His casting as Cyborg on Doom Patrol gives him his very first superhero role.

Well her tits are certainly crazy.

So they're replacing Robot Man with Cyborg why? Have these assholes even read the comics?

I don't think DC has any control over anything outside their comics.

Because DC is drunken off the idea of making Cyborg into their Wolverine.

>Because DC is drunken off the idea of making Cyborg into their Wolverine.

DC wants that sweet, sweet racial inclusivity that makes them look good, but they aren't so retarded as Marvel. Instead they're picking a character that already exists and is at least somewhat liked and trying to turn him into a big star.

File: dd806c604f31d72⋯.jpg (21.55 KB, 640x345, 128:69, Timothy Dalton Hot Fuzz.jpg)

Well fuck.

Also Len Wiseman (The Gifted, Lucifer) will direct and executive-produce Swamp Thing.

>Genius. Visionary. Accomplished. Eccentric. Maybe a little insane. Dr. Niles Caulder, known more informally as “the Chief,” is the wheelchair-bound scientist who traditionally leads the quirky band of heroes called the Doom Patrol. Caulder is, in a word, brilliant. And so is this casting choice.

>It was just announced that acclaimed actor Timothy Dalton (James Bond, Doctor Who, Wuthering Heights) will be playing the role of Caulder on Doom Patrol, the upcoming live action series based on the legendary comic book series. Having played both heroes and villains on screen and stage, Dalton should be well suited to the character, who has historically been a bit of both.

>According to the Chief’s Doom Patrol character description, Dr. Caulder is a pioneer in medical science, searching the world over for those on the edge of death in need of a miracle. Brilliant, but controversial, Dr. Caulder will stop at nothing to help those he believes are in need, including his collection of strange heroes known as The Doom Patrol.

>That “controversial” note may prove to be key. In Grant Morrison’s infamous run on the comic series, the Chief was revealed to be plotting to destroy much of the world in an attempt to restart human society. He was stopped by the Doom Patrol (getting decapitated in the process, which led to him living life as nothing more than a conscious, cryogenically preserved head for a while), and eventually seemed to recant his beliefs and once again become a force for good. However, as seen in Gerard Way and Nick Derington’s recent run on Doom Patrol, his ideas are still misguided and as a result, the team is pretty wary of him.

>It’s unknown whether the show will follow a similar path with the character, or keep him as a largely heroic figure. Either way, Dalton should be up for the task. Best known for his stint as James Bond in both The Living Daylights and License to Kill, Dalton has been a presence in film since the 1960s, where he made an impression in both The Lion in Winter and Wuthering Heights. Genre fans will probably know him best from his roles in cult faves Flash Gordon, The Rocketeer and Hot Fuzz, and his appearance as a villainous Time Lord in Doctor Who opposite David Tennant.

>Doom Patrol is already shaping up to be as fascinating as its source material, even prior to production. Dalton is the latest in a string of high profile casting announcements that have piqued plenty of fan curiosity. Last week, Deadline announced that Alan Tudyk had been cast as Mr. Nobody, which followed the news that Brendan Fraser would be voicing Robotman as well as playing Cliff Steele, his pre-robot, human identity. Also recently cast were Joivan Wade as Cyborg, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane.

The swamp feels a lot less lonely this morning.

>While we’re still waiting to learn who will be playing Swamp Thing himself, it’s been revealed that actress Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf) will be embodying Abby Arcane, Swamp Thing’s wife and partner and niece of the villainous Anton Arcane in the upcoming live action series based on the genre-pushing comic series. Known for her caring nature and distinct white hair with black streaks, Abby is a longtime staple of the Swamp Thing comic series, and made her debut in SWAMP THING #3.

>Swamp Thing’s description of the character doesn’t put her too far away from what fans are expecting: Smart and caring, CDC Doctor Abby Arcane's strong sense of empathy puts her at the center of a horrific life-threatening epidemic in her hometown, where she faces emotional demons from her past… while a chance meeting with scientist Alec Holland takes her into a world of horror and the supernatural, and of the elemental creature known as Swamp Thing.

>Making her first appearance in 1973, Abby Arcane wasn’t originally romantically involved with Alec Holland. The pair began their comic book relationship as friends before falling in love over time, getting married and eventually mothering a daughter with Swamp Thing. In the comics, Abby is also a psychic, with the ability to experience empathy towards living beings, as well as telepathy and telekinesis.

>This is Reed’s second dive into the world of #DCTV. Gotham fans will recognize her right away from her memorable season four role as Sofia Falcone, who proved to be a powerful foil to James Gordon and Gotham’s crime families before she met her violent end. Reed was charismatic in the role, so it’ll be fascinating to see what she does with a character who’s more altruistic and kind, more no less complex.

>Announced earlier this year, Swamp Thing promises to be a horror-tinged take on the material and arrives care of executive producers James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman and Michael Clear, who together are behind some of the best horror franchises of the past few years, including The Conjuring, It and Annabelle. While Abby Arcane has appeared in live action before, it’s been a while. The last time was in 1990’s Swamp Thing series, which aired on USA Network.

>The new Swamp Thing series doesn’t yet have a premiere date, but will air exclusively on DC Universe.

I'm not supposed to post two unrelated links, sorry

And Abby's childhood friend has now been cast:

>["Danish" actress, screenwriter, filmmaker, and former beauty queen] Maria Sten (Channel Zero, Straight Outta Compton) is set as a series regular opposite Crystal Reed in Swamp Thing, the upcoming streaming drama series based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. The project, which hails from James Wan’s Atomic Monster in association with Warner Bros. Television, is set to premiere in 2019 on the DC Universe digital subscription service.

>Written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman, Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane (Reed) as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

>Sten will play Liz Tremayne, a close childhood friend of Abby Arcane’s, who splits her time between reporting for the local paper and bartending at her aging father’s roadhouse bar. Her no-nonsense attitude belies a deep compassion for her friends and family as she sets out in her uncompromising quest to expose the secrets that threaten her beloved hometown.

>skinny Penn Jillette

That turkey neck he has is so weird.

>Judging by the costumes, Morrison's run is the main inspiration.

The question is if it will be story wise as well. It is hard to believe that WB would not think of Morrison's run as too weird to adapt.

How are they going to pull Mr. Nobody in life action? Are they going to keep him 2D? It looks like they did not cheap out on the costumes, but just how much money is WB willing to throw at a fucking Doom Patrol out of all things after apparently penny pinching Titans? Is there some Avi Arad type in WB who is obsessed with Doom Patrol instead of Venom?

DC Universe’s newest hero is bound to be a star.

>In what will give the just-launched DC Universe its first live action female-fronted superhero show, actress Brec Bassinger has been cast in the title role of Stargirl in the upcoming series based on the staff-wielding character. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, Stargirl will be the DC Universe’s sixth original series.

>Outside of costume, Stargirl is known as Courtney Whitmore, a young woman’s who’s described as smart, athletic and above all else kind. The high school sophomore’s seemingly perfect life hits a major speedbump when her mother gets married and her new family moves from Los Angeles, California to Blue Valley, Nebraska. Struggling to adapt to a new school, make new friends and deal with a new step-family, Courtney discovers her step-father has a secret; he used to be the sidekick to a superhero. “Borrowing” the long-lost hero’s cosmic staff, Courtney becomes the inspiration for an entirely new generation of superheroes.

>The series itself follows Courtney as she inspires that unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past, and aims to reimagine Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in what promises to be an unpredictable series. Stargirl focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, and was lovingly inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

>Courtney Whitmore made her first appearance in 1999’s STARS AND S.T.R.I.P.E. #0 in an origin story that sounds pretty similar to the one described on the show. In the comics, Courtney is the stepdaughter of Pat Dugan, who was the former sidekick of youthful hero the Star-Spangled Kid. After Courtney finds the Kid’s costume among her stepfather’s things, she decides to start wearing it, becoming the second Star-Spangled Kid. However, she soon evolves into Stargirl after being given Starman’s cosmic staff.

>As alluded to in the DC Universe series description, Stargirl is probably best known as a member of the Justice Society of America, and most of her comic book adventures have taken place in the pages of JSA. While Courtney’s more than capable on her own, most of her powers come from the cosmic staff, which was given to her by Jack Knight when he retired as Starman, as well as the Star-Spangled Kid’s cosmic converter belt. Together, they give her enhanced strength, speed and agility, as well as the ability to fly and manipulate energy into force fields and energy blasts.

>“There is no other character in comic books more special to me than Stargirl, and after searching far and wide I can say there is no other actor on the planet that embodies her more than Brec Bassinger,” shared Johns, who’s also an executive producer and writing the first episode of the show. “Brec’s warmth, strength, humor and positive energy are core to who Courtney Whitmore is. I’m so grateful she’s signed on for the role.”

>Bassinger is probably best known for her role in the television series based on the movie School of Rock, though she’s also recently appeared in the Hulu original series, All Night, and had a regular role earlier in her career on the Nickelodeon series, Bella and the Bulldogs. She also appeared as Zoe McIntosh in two episodes of The Goldbergs.

>Interestingly, for a hero who isn’t as widely known as Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman, Harley Quinn or many of DC ‘s other female characters, Stargirl has had quite a life outside comics. She’s appeared twice before in live action TV, first embodied by Britt Irvin in Smallville and most recently in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, where she was played by Sarah Grey. In addition, she’s been seen on Justice League Unlimited and Justice League Action, voiced by Giselle Loren and Natalie Lander.

That reminds me, does anyone know what Bat-suit was used for Birds Of Prey?

There aren't many good shots of it, but it looks like the first Tim Burton suit, or a cheaper version. Maybe it's one of the ones they use for the live-action shows at theme parks?

Maybe they're just gonna have him in a cheap silhouette shot for a flashback but who knows. What I've always wanted to see was a batsuit where the top layer is some kind of strong fabric that's at least knife proof while underneath his a layer of armor you don't see unless Batman is damaged that badly in a fight. That way you have the classic spandex look but still have that "realistic" tactical element that normalfags cream themselves over. Battfleck was the closest to that in terms of live action but they botched it in the Justice League movie right after.

Or just hire an extremely buff actor and have him wear a nice padded costume instead of all that heavy shit.

It's a kitbash of Kilmer and Clooney's suits.

Don't worry, they'll turn everything so dark that you can barely see it anyway. That's the DC way.

Netflix will stream Titans globally outside of U.S. and China, presumed for early 2019

What a way to show you have zero faith in your own service, DC.

More likely licensing. If they ship their platform to every country, they need to wrangle the rights to all of the other shows/films on offer (comics would be fine as DC has the ights to those), else they're only offering a fraction of the library, which would piss off everyone who's paying the same amount. For example, in my country, 1 network has rights to Batman '66, 1 has Timmverse, and another has Young Justice/GL:TAS and a few others. They can't just tear up contracts on broadcasting rights whenever they feel like it.

Also, saves them the cost of purchasing servers in other countries to host the content at reasonable speeds as Netflix has already done all of that.

Wouldn't be surprised if they offered a DC Universe Lite that only serves comics to other regions, however.

This was the same Batman/Batsuit that was in the OnStar commercials, right? I think I remember reading that way back when.

Looks like you're right. After some snooping around, seems this suit wasn't made for Bruce Thomas, who was Batman for both the ads and Birds Of Prey, but was thrown together from whatever the stunt guys, most of whom had worked on the movies, had that fit, so it's a bitzer assembled from Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney.

The announcement was just made by fellow Doom Patrol star Brendan Fraser ahead of the premiere of DC Universe’s Titans at New York Cmic-Con.

> Bomer will provide the voiceover performance for the character of Negative Man and will appear as Larry Trainor in flashback scenes. Matthew Zuk has also been cast in the role of Negative Man, and he will provide the physical performance of the character on set in full body costume.

>Why couldn't it just be a Joker and Harley cartoon to at least curb having too much of a character that can't stand on her own?

Because then you find out that she works best as a molly to her gangster boyfriend. And then she's not a feminist anti-hero.

At least it leans more into Timm's design. That's about all the good I can say about it. I fear it is going to be "lol, break the fourth wall like Deadpool" that they kept trying to push in the comics, and failing. Because you oddly need restraint for that to work well.

Based on casting and costumes alone, it looks like people handling Doom Patrol are more competent than ones dealing with Titans.

It does not look too bad, but the ad is too self-aware. Hopefully this is not going to be a case for the actual show. Shame they ditched Amanda Conner inspired style for more generic and simplified one. At least she has the old costume this time around.

Some more information about the Harley Quinn animated series:

>Harley does not want to be the Joker's girlfriend anymore

>she will cross paths with Batman (voiced by Bader), Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Doctor Psycho, and Poison Ivy (voiced by Bell)

Here's the final trailer of Titans season one, now renewed as expected.

Starting to think the only reason why Hawk and Dove have continually seemed decent is the lack of promotional material highlighting them.

Dick was destroyed when he was seen acting more like Jason.

Raven as opposed to being the older figure, literally bringing them together for the New Teen Titans, is an angsty teen where the only purple is in highlights in her hair. But that's on brand with the nu52 Raven.

Beast Boy would have been great, if that was the only image we have seen of him. Always being green is one of the key aspects, and them going "lol, just a tiger" on his transformations show why they don't get his appeal.

Similarly, the heavily CGI Star was exactly what people said to expect when the on set photos hit, that they wouldn't make her look bad as seen in >>1027041

>that Young Justice digital comic will be an one-shot

>DC Universe has the US digital streaming rights to the Krypton TV series

Titans: Theme by Clint Mansell & Kevin Kiner

Meanwhile, Rahul Kohli (iZombie) will voice Scarecrow in the upcoming Harley Quinn animated series.

It's sad that even TTGO has a better theme.

Really? I enjoyed it. It isn't as gritty as some on /tv/ or /co/ said it would be. Dick didn't kill anyone, but he did beat the shit out of a child beater.

I'll reiterate though, they NEED to get rid of starfire. Like as soon as this season is up, just send her somewhere else. Let Dick fuck Babs or something. There's no way Kory is a Tameranian though, not in the sense of the comics.

Otherwise, Raven is clearly the daughter of Trigon, Dick is still butthurt at Batman, and Beast Boy is still the teenage guy who loves video games. Only time will tell if he loves pizza.

That Wonder Woman on the second picture looks like a damned Jew.

Is she like this in the comics? I mean the looks are good enough for me, it's a shame that the eyes are not red and multiple as some Anon pointed out earlier, but her personality is… Weak. That's not what I expected, though the evil Raven feels like the real one.

Harley being with Ivy is the worst thing of all.

Holy fuck this is absolutely hilarious in it's edge. It's absolutely everything I imagined it would be and more. It's less straight up idiotic, and it's not a bad show in itself, but knowing who these characters are supposed to be makes this one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

-Robin is in Detroit, instead instead of Bludhaven to make sure it's as gritty and realistic as possible.

-Starfire shows up wearing that shitty fur coat everyone defending as her wearing offset because it was cold

-Starfire lost her memory at the beginning at the show making sure everyone is super confused so the audience can have shit directly explained to them

-Starfire incinerates a room of people on accident, unaware she had powers, and then leaves with a giggle. This giggle is the first and only time we see any of her normal cheery personality

-When her powers activate, they go the "Iron Fist" route, where she has to charge up and make he entire body glow for her to use them, instead of being able to casually use her powers like she should

-Beast Boy is not green, but his animals are

-Beast Boy changing into animals is shown to be a slow, painful-looking process like becoming a werewolf, so don't expect to see much of it

I'll give the show a very mild bit of credit in that this is apparently a sort of origin story for her, but by comic logic, if Raven was unaware of her powers and shit the world would end, because showing emotions is very very bad for her and everyone around her. A better way to start the show would have been to have Raven, fully powered and aware of things to round up the Titans knowing they can help with something, or have the Titans teaming up to stop her in the first episode or so, then learning she's actually good natured. What they chose is to do instead is super fucking boring and makes he not at all what she's supposed to be like.

Fucking why

Without even grabbing the magnet, my guesses on it.

H.264 is still used more often then H.265.

<did she date hawk in the comics?

It's not even just the fact they hired a black actress. They had to hire an old black actress with incredibly negroid features. It's insulting how little they care.

Thought we were in CY4 or CY5.

I wonder how they tell black actors and actresses that their characters are white in the source material.

Meanwhile, how was the Doom Patrol in Titans?

He's supposed to be retired from the role. Of course he retired like 50 times. It might be that his costs got too expensive for them to hire him with star wars being back in focus, and him also not wanting to do the role because of the strain on his voice.

Thoughts on how Young Justice's return will fare? Does Weisman still have it?

On one hand, I'm glad that they're actually covering child trafficking, and perhaps it might even be a subtle uncovering of the "agenda," but on the other, they dialed up the dark and edgy seemingly for the sake of following trends.

Underwhelming with no sense of direction, all the time skips just seem unnecessary and disruptive.

Why is Wally there when he was dead? Or was that a flashback?

And metahumans work like mutants now apparently. I'm a little annoyed they used the more recent designs from the recent animated movies for Superman and the Parademons. Though I guess it makes sense use the assets you have now.

>Why is Cyborg in this?

Every other actor is white, they have been established in Episode 4 of Titans. Interestingly, they kept all the actors from that episode, except the guy who played the Chief, who was an Arab. So they needed at least one black person on the team. Also, since that 'Doom Patrol' episode featured a girl who could be turned into Fever, she could be the Asian token.

>Why was Cyborg in JLA?

Because the Green Lantern movie failed, and since that, they are afraid of using any Green Lantern. Now, instead of including the traditionally black Green Lantern, they've replaced him with Cyborg, who, in turn, was taken out from the Teen Titans. I don't know why they've put him into Doom Patrol though, I don't think he has a fanbase at all.

>I don't think he has a fanbase at all.

That's racist.

But why not use fucking Beast Boy? Isn't he established to have been in the Doom Patrol in Titans?

They might be thinking about a different Tempest.

Beast Boy is not black. They cannot have a team without a black person.

>Isn't there a one cyborg rule?

They are reformatting the universe in these series. In Titans, so far only Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman are confirmed to exist and I think the League has been disbanded or something. SO the JLA Cyborg doesn't exist there.

>If they wanted a black guy why not use Tempest?

The canon black guys are somehow too complicated for them, they need to make white characters black or just toss characters around.

Kid Flash is Bart Allen now.

Beast Boy wasn't a part of the original team. He didn't make his first appearance until more than a year after the DP's forming

Because MidnightRider is a faggot, he didn't quickly rip the second chapter.

Because of this thread approaching the bump limit, you may now create separate threads for each DC Universe show.

>that starfire

Fucking hell.

Even with the face paint on, she still has very pronounced african features, which is not what the comic book version of Starfire would look like. They could have at least used a hispanic actress if they wanted to fill the diversity quota so much, she could have passed.

And by god that's some nasty-ass hair.

Only thing Titans did right was make Joker actually look like Joker. Unlike the upcoming movie. And he's a corpse. A fucking corpse is the only comic accurate looking character in this show and more Joker looking than the version in a solo movie.

Time for more mind rape

Was amused that Beast Boy in Young Justice kept his TTGo voice. That made his plea for people to watch out for metahuman traffickers seem wrong like Robin Williams (RIP) trying to be serious in his Mork suit.

I'll be the optimist and hope it's good. Joaquin Phoenix has done some fantastic work, and he's somehow always been able to convey a comical psycho.

The solo movie is meant to be more of an elseworld's type of story so that's why he looks so different.

Apparently his previous YJ voice actor quit acting after the end of Season 2.

I just finished watching S03E01 and feel dirty all over. So many fucking niggers everywhere, with taser nigger taking central stage. Ms Martian still wasn't gassed and now looks like utter shit on top of that. I guess the writers just forgot she brainfucked a dude into coma in the last season.

Oh, and they couldn't help themselves and had to push the muh refugees bullshit in there somehow. And the plot is incredibly edgy on top of everything else. I don't see this season going well.

>the muh refugees bullshit in there somehow

Take that Eastern European bloc.

But I don't know if its Miss Mind Rape Martian or WakAquaman that is more egregious.

This whole season is pretty clearly half-assed. I knew it as soon as I saw the animation, it looks like they got a bunch of fucking interns to get it done while the senior artists went to grab a coffee.

The funniest thing is, nobody even wants to watch this shit anymore. Most of the old YJ fanbase is long gone and moved onto other things.

I'd say Aquanigger. Whose idea was it to put black Aquaman in charge? Also, I have to laugh at taser nigger getting PTSD because he killed someone on a fucking battlefield. He has an emotional breakdown even before they figure out (in a horribly voiced and scripted scene) he just tasered a sick little girl to death.

And the more I think about the lynch-pin of the plot, namely the trafficking of metahumans, the dumber it gets. I mean, why are they even bothering? DC aliens tend to have powers and technology that far rivals what the majority of Earth metahumans can dish out. Most big hitters on Earth either aren't native or their powers didn't manifest through the metagene so why do they even fucking bother?

Also, didn't they put in place some boomtube shield on Earth in the last season? How the fuck are common thugs even getting their captives off-world?

>nobody even wants to watch this shit anymore

I wanted to, but not after seeing the first episode. I can this shitpile will destroy whatever embers of decent writing were left by the end of season 2.

File: a26662b9c7b1317⋯.png (1.61 MB, 1920x1080, 16:9, beast boy.png)

3 episodes. It doesn't get better.

>taser nigger taking central stage.

Odd that in a show supposedly centered on young superheroes, Static gets the bare minimum of screen time in Black Lightning's story.

Kaldur leading the Justice League is hard to believe, but Miss Martian is far worse. She's got Superboy so messed up that he's ready to marry her. It isn't clear if he even still remembers why he was mad at her, or if she did a better job on him the second time around.

>didn't they put in place some boomtube shield on Earth in the last season?

It only blocks Zeta-beams, the teleportation method used by the Justice League. Boom tubes can go right through.

Stargirl & Stripe?

>The DC Universe series Stargirl just added some Hollywood star wattage to its cast: Luke Wilson is on board to portray mechanic-turned-superhero Pat Dugan, who pilots Stripe, a hulking 15-foot robot of his own invention.

>The star of Old School, Legally Blonde and The Royal Tenebaums joins a cast led by young Brec Bassinger of Nickelodeon’s Bella & the Bulldogs in the title role of a high school student who inherits the cosmic device of a long-gone superhero. Also in the ensemble: Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Rex Tyler/Hourman, Brian Stapf as Ted Grant/Wildcat, Henry Thomas as Charles McNider/Dr Mid-Nite and Anjelika Washington in an undisclosed role.

Showrunner Geoff Johns, who created Stargirl while writing for DC Comics in the late 1990s, described the casting coup in terms that made it sound as if it was written in the stars.

“When I first moved to Los Angeles in 1996 and saw Bottle Rocket, I became a huge fan and admirer of Luke’s,” Johns said “And I literally wrote this part for Luke, hoping that someday and somehow he’d play Pat Dugan. I only envisioned him. And now I feel like I won the lottery! Luke’s talent, humor, compassion — his presence and professionalism — and his creative collaboration, his ideas — we’re so lucky to have him alongside Brec in Stargirl.”

The show’s official description of Wilson’s character: “Pat Dugan once went by the less-than-inspired superhero name of Stripesy, sidekick to a young hero known as the Star-Spangled-Kid and later Starman of the legendary Justice Society of America. Today, Pat has left his sidekick life behind him. But when his new step-daughter, Courtney Whitmore, discovers Pat’s secret past and takes on Starman’s legacy to become Stargirl, Pat is forced to come out of retirement and once again become a sidekick — to his step-daughter — this time piloting a 15-foot robot called Stripe.”

Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter and Melissa Carter are executive producers of Stargirl, which is based on the DC character created by Johns. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Johns is writing the first episode and will serve as showrunner. No official release date has been announced.

>Stargirl shares its title with an upcoming Disney+ movie. That production adapts the novel by Jerry Spinelli and stars singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal in the title role of Stargirl Caraway, a non-conforming newcomer who shakes up an Arizona high school campus.

>bump limit reached

Now's it's time to create separate threads for DC Universe shows.

>Now's it's time to create separate threads for DC Universe shows.

I disagree. A containment thread is in order.

Worthwhile to break up the animated and live-action shows? I will be one to admit that at least Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, and the rest of the live action should be one thread.
