I think that it would be enormously beneficial to the denizens of 8chan, and any visitors to /coffee/ for the members of this board to put together an infographic something along the lines of /g/s' Headphone Guides, but for coffee. Sorting coffees that are easily found in most areas, or easily bought online, in order of price, with notes about flavor for each. I think it should come in three columns: one for the coffee itself, one for grinders, and one for brewing kit. Also I think a list of places these things are most easily/cheaply found would be nice. If you have any suggestions for this guide, please post them here.

Yeah, it's perfect for cuban coffee– coming from a cuban household. Cafe La Llave is also nice for cuban espresso or cafe con leche

I hope you realize, >>648, that it's that way for the reason that it's for cuban brews

Fresh ground beans are alright, prepackaged is just pointlessly expensive.

I notice there are a lot of people serious about coffee around here. I am serious about what coffee does for me. Since I often get up early and sometimes I am still asleep in mornings I like to pour the evenings coffee into a bottle and sip that when I wake up so I don't have to deal with making coffee. Taste is the least of my concerns.

Guys, I tried this shit for the first time on Thursday, and I'm absolutely hooked. I want to hear you guys' recipes. (Gawd, that word is hard to spell right.)

The base recipe is a cup of coffee, two tablespoons of butter (ideally grass fed unsalted butter, but I'm sure organic butter isn't that much worse), and one tablespoon of coconut oil, or, if you have it, MCT oil. (I think that's what the acronym was…)

It's filling, delicious, provides a much better energy boost that's smooth and not crashy, and best of all, it takes hardly any time to make.

A modification I tried was adding two eggs. Delicious. Another thing you can do is JUST do the eggs, but I haven't tried that yet.

This shit is so cash, folks, it really is.

 No.994

>>993

really depends on the coffee

if you dont notice uncomfortable jitterryness and you have enough water in there, exercise and eat well, then itll probably be fine

personally i like to take a break once in a while for at least a few weeks to undo any habits or reduce effects

if you can calculate the amount of caffeine in there roughly based on 30-60mg a cup then you want to try and not have over 400mg on average

A trick to make coffee an endorphin booster.

Now we know that coffee makes your brain make more adrenaline.

What if you want the happy calm buzz you get from endorphins?

I found this trick while researching how to raise my endorphins.

turns out there is a switch in our brain.

this switch can be activated if certain substances exist in the body.

there is two modes for caffeine.

>excitory

>inhibitory

excitory mode makes you jittery and alert.

inhibitory makes you calm and mildly euphoric.

You need substances called "switchers" in order to do this

This is good if you want to drink coffee but still want to be able to sleep.

Here is how to do it

>get acytel- cysteine

>get magnesiem citrate

>take the above 30 mins before your coffee.

>drink your coffee.

Nice 888! Coffee makes me really paranoid, for instance if I drink a pot I start getting sudden thoughts that people are mocking me for some reason or another, or that I'm being watched, or that all my friends hate me and don't want to be around me, or that I'm actually retarded but nobody tells me which is discouraging to think about because if I were actually retarded how could I ever know, I think I'm a fat shit and everyone hates me etc etc, my food is poisoned, someone stuck needles in my feet etc etc. Its okay thought, I can rationalize all the thoughts away, sometimes its pretty scary though, because no matter how much I rationalize them, they're still there lurking in the shadows, and the doubt and insecurity that comes with them is more open about its presence. I hope your question is answered OP, I'm drinking a pot right now.

Pic related is this year's Starbucks red cup.

Don't worry little pleb, maybe one day you too can taste the fucking tomato soup notes in a cup of starbucks coffee, because I sure can, and its awful. Until that day, just let the adults talk, because starbucks is legitimately awful.

To be honest home brewed is always the best to me. I know it is 100% fresh the beans never prepoured the water always distilled and the temperature not scolding hot for some pseudoscience reason but just right above boiling while brewing and then down to a warm 120 degrees when I sip it

Starbucks serves their coffee way too hot, their beans are never fresh (not that they would taste good anyway), they smell like chemicals, and I'm pretty sure they use chemicals in them, because whenever I drink their coffee my piss smells like coffee after. Not only that, they use too few beans per cup of water, which is a problem compounded by the fact that they over-roast their beans anyway, leaving it tasting like nothing but bitter (which I cant taste anymore, so just nothing) and this nasty stale beany taste on the back of the tongue. It tastes like boiling de-alcholized beer. Furthermore, the cheapest cup of BOILING PISS BEER costs a whopping $2.50, almost four times the price of the restaurant Folgers standard, and still 2-3 times as much as freshly home made coffee, including the price of equipment if you were to buy twice a week for a year, or daily for a couple months. I would honestly prefer instant coffee to starbucks, it tastes just as bad but its cheaper, and there are coffee alternatives like chicory that taste good in their own right, which could also be a suitable replacement. Starbucks is literally less useful than a keurig, and a keurig is less useful than a low end coffee machine, which is less useful than a pourover cup. It really bothers me that people actually give starbucks money.

Time to start a competing coffee place and just jack up the price 2-3x to get all the hipsters in!

i asked for a short black. which is just a double shot espresso straight.

the coffee girl asked "really, you mean with nothing else in it?"

well, yeah, i'm into coffee, not coffee flavoured milkshakes.

sometimes i get them to put two double shots in. "this'll get you going" he said.

ha, ha-ha.

well, it depends what your "regular" coffee is and the weight of coffee beans it uses.

Its the same with darker = more caffeine when in reality lighter roasts have the most caffeine. I think its just them being stupid and reasoning that MORE DARK = STRONGER
