How do we get power?
I think a LFTR would be a great source of energy later down the road but how do we start initially?

All atomic power requires tremendous infrastructure. People who have the expertise are numbered, not to mention large powers already freely interfere in such matters even when it's other sovereign states.
Wind seems straightforward but even if installation is outsourced you need skilled specialist for maintenance.
Solar seems easiest, but a bit expensive especially if you consider the cost of batteries.
Portable generators are the easiest, but doesn't work as a mainstay solution (would require massive shipments of fuel).

Concentrated solar thermal.
You just use sunshine to heat up oil and boil water. No expensive panels needed, just mirrors to concentrate solar on one point.

-Creates pressurized water as a byproduct
-Harnesses heat as a biproduct
-Can even drive an air conditioning system as a biproduct
