Texas nationalist here (for succession) . Convince me that Dixie would be a good Idea, because as I see it, forming a union with the rest of the south would be a huge drain to our economy due to mass poverty. Tell me, why does Texas need you? I'm not trying to insult y'all, but ours alone is the 15th largest economy in the world while Mississippi is the poorest in the nation. Now, convince me on why we would be interested in anything close to the confederacy.

If you look at the total percentage of people in poverty in the south, it is actually only 1-2% more than the northeast. The state with the highest percentage of people in poverty is California at 23%. (source: supplemental poverty measure 2014) The main reason I think the south is poor is because of black people. If we give the black people their own state, I think they would alleviate a lot of their poverty and a lot of racial issues that plague us would go away. It'd probably be good for Texas to be in a confederacy with those from the south because then if you have international troubles(eg. sanctions by U.S), you'll at least have some states that'll back you up and be willing to do trade with you.

Mostly military and manpower, and being able to stand up to the US and rest of the world better. There are only thirty million people in Texas, and most aren't going to want to fight for it.
