I know we talk about State's Rights a lot, but how do you actually envision it functioning in the neo-/confederacy/? What are the roles of the Federal and the State governments? I imagine everyone has a different view of how State's rights should be implemented.

 No.627

Much stronger constitution with explicit powers given to the states, emasculated supreme court, right to secede explicitly stated, christianity as the state religion.

 No.633

Just think of the relationship between the fed and state was before 1860, but removing the fed's power to tariff to protect in favor of other states, instead of favoring the country as a whole. Use the Tariff of 1828 as an example.

That shit wouldn't pass, and it shouldn't pass. The new CSA will not be a theocracy.

Having a state religion doesn't make it a theocracy, it just prevents any sort of moral relativism.

>it just prevents any sort of moral relativism.

How? There's going to be moral relativism either way. If there's biblical law, then how much biblical law should be allowed? Everyone's just going to pick and choose which verses of the bible to follow anyway. That's how we've always done it and that's how we always are going to do it. Honestly, ISIS has the right idea. If you want slavery, kids to fuck, and jews to kill, just join ISIS. Converting to Islam sounds like a small price to pay for muh freedom. Besides, you probably weren't a good christian anyway you racist fat fuck.

>Having politicians interpret the bible

Retarded idea. If everyone was Catholic, it would be easy just to have someone from the Vatican help determine policy. Because there's a schism, there should be an ecumenical panel of conservative preachers and a bishop or something, that needs a unanimous decision to change something.

Kek, go back to reddit.

1.) Federal Government cannot raise taxes for welfare.

2.) Federal Government may not own land owned by a State. If it needs to used State land it must ask that State for permission.

3.) No Federal Bank.

4.) Federal Government requires 3/5ths of votes in both houses to pass any law. 2/3rds to raise taxes.

5.) Constitutional limit to the amount of Federal Debt accrued.

6.) No Bully principal. If a law is found to only affect a small percentage of States it will be repealed.

7.) States can hold constitutional convention to repeal laws, impeach presidents or other executive branch officials, add a constitutional amendment.

8.) States can make treaties with each other or set sanctions against other States. States can sue other states for treaty violations or property violations. Federal Courts will deal with these violations. This should make Federal Government involvement in the economy unnecessary, meaning the Federal Government shouldn't be able to have much power in the economy.

9.) States may not go to war against each other.

States also have autonomy over immigration. They can even limit immigration from other States.

Ideally the federal government virtually doesn't exist. While my inner anarchist wants no government, I'll explain this in a more palatable manner:

Federal Government's Duties:

1) Raise a military in times of war/act as a unifying body

2) Enforce the constitution (and interpret it, though states should have the right to deny the interpretation somehow)

3) Handle inter-state conflicts such as water rights, trade agreements, highways, etc.

Virtually everything else should be in the hands of the states. If they wish to change the constitution, it should require a change to be ratified in at least 2/3rds of the participating states' constitutions or for a constitutional convention to be held.

Oh, also, do away with the ninth amendment or heavily change it if you follow the US constitution. It's the source of virtually all this SJW bullshit.

I don't want a state religion. That being said, I'm perfectly fine with dressing up our currency, buildings, etc. with that religion if it's the majority religion. And not muslim.
