People on the internet in general are fucking terrible at telling what's genuine and what's a pisstake. There's always telltale signs both for actual bad writing and ironic, subtle badness.

Like I was reading a My Immortal-style Death Note fanfic once and it had several signs telling you that it's intentional - like a sentence that appears to be full of horrible typoes but actually ends up being a subtle innuendo, or a dying character mentioning someone's almost full name with everyone acting as if you can't tell (it's a comedy staple, no one is that stupid).

If you ask me something is truly bad when it's boring. Sonichu has a lot of boring parts in it, but it also has a lot of unintentional entertainment too even if it's a an incredibly poor work.

The difference is that Black Dynamite is very openly a satire of blaxploitation movies packed, whereas Birdemic is an attempt to make a movie purposefully bad in a straight faced "authentic" way, rather than a winking satire way.

Even so, Birdemic was basically marketed as a "bad movie" for the laughs, so is almost certainly intentional. I'll admit it's on the line though, because it's played so completely straight.

Compare to a movie like Battlefield Earth, which was marketed as a good action sci-fi movie, and was an attempt by John Travolta to try make Scientology popular by using its mythos to create the "next Star Wars" phenomena. That's completely unintentionally bad, and so it's a glorious failure.

Incidentally, one of the great things about Chris is that he lacks so much understanding of why conventions in pop culture exist that even when he tries to be self-aware and play to type, it still comes across as a failure, like his incomprehensible Family Guy parodies. A failed parody of a failed parody becomes funny. It's post-post-modern (don't hit me).

Sonichu fails on so many levels simultaneously, which is what makes it so sublime. No other bad comic would have so much real life context to it, in that all the trolling of Chris eventually got incorporated into the comic in the most bizarre ways possible, given his tendency to turn the 4th wall into a pretzel. It's bad in so complex a way that you could do legitimate scholarly dissertations on Sonichu, and that's something you don't find with a lot of other bottom of the barrel trash.

Chris himself is a character that I don't think will ever be matched. It's like one of those 100 year storm or 100 year tide things. The combination of sincerity, ineptness, lack of self-awareness, suggestibility, and misunderstanding of how society works on a fundamental level is combined with just enough competence to make the lolcow par excellence come into being.

David "Walky" Willis has some pretty awful webcomics. The art is fine, but a lot of the strips are either unfunny, do Seth MacFarlene-tier soapboxing, or both. That's because Islam is inherently against all that stuff. You don't see gay or trans Muslims at pride parades because they're following a religion that thinks they should die for being that way. Except that webcomic author perceives Muslims as poor prosecuted brown people (when in reality Islam is a broad religion making up quite a few different racial groups so that's wrong in the first place) so they think it's necessary to argue for their representation.

The thing is representation matters due to places like the US and UK having such a wide range of people and cultures. Places where diversity forced people to stop being bigoted. It's a western belief that doesn't mean jack shit in parts of the world that follow an outdated fucked up religion. That artist thinks they're boldly arguing for the rights of minorities when in actuality they're imposing western beliefs about diversity to eastern cultures where it's entirely moot. Now ideology and the people that follow it are two different things. There are plenty of good Muslim people who ignore that side of their religion, presumably because they were raised in it and had to make peace with it. There are people like that who are gay and trans which is pretty deepy complicated. But this popular notion on the Internet that no one but straight white cis men should be challenged lead to idiots on tumblr who proclaim they're proud to be Muslim and gay/trans/feminist even though that's essentially an oxymoron.

This webcomic arist probably saw some of those people on Tumblr and were offended that they weren't at the pride parade. They're arguing for the rights of people they don't understand and aren't part of. They're defending a belief system that has countries where gay people, trans people, and women who were raped but didn't have enough witnesses to prove it was rape and non adultery, are all killed. They're arguing for a belief system that would try to kill them. In a way their ignorance is almost just as offensive as a person who's outright racist and bigoted.

This is why I can't stand liberals today as an incredibly left leaning person. It's become a retarded hugbox where people use western logic and education to argue how evil the western world is.

It was made with a really ugly 3d modeling program, and for some reason the main female characters always wound up naked. The thing was super fucking autistic and treated smoking like it was as dangerous as heroin. I forget the name but it had a funny page on tvtropes before they decided to delete all criticism from their articles.
