Only thing is the glitch it corrects for only applies to in real time identification, like for tracking you with cameras. Given a minute or two longer they can match up the markers just fine. Smile or not. Especially when it's from two fairly high definition pictures. Like you'd get on a fake passport. So it really isn't about passports. It's about identifying the guy who blows shit up or robs banks, and tracking him through the subway station or whatever afterwards. It's about catching bad guys.
