Scott stopped making the games after he closed the "story" with an alternative ending with a more autistic unlock design than what Kojima made with PT. I'm guessing that becoming the new "Shepherd of the Spergs" was a title he decided wasn't worth the money he was making off of them.
It'll probably get worse if Warner Bros. actually releases their movie adaptation.
