I might be implicate myself for this, but I am a fan of RWBY. I don't exactly love it, but I like it just enough to say unironically that I am a fan of it.
Don't get me wrong, though. When the show first came out, I wasn't enthusiastic with it and called bullshit on Episode 3 then dropped it for a while. I am not a fan of it's shounen-y nature and undisguised efforts of pandering to anime fans. It was clear right from the start that it wasn't a good show at all.
But after Monty Oum died, I was like, he's dead now. Well, he was a decent guy and clearly an aspiring animator. Maybe, as a tribute to him, I'll somehow just grit my teeth and watch the whole thing. Well, it still is shounen-y as all heaven and hell, but does improve overall overtime. I can't deny that the writing is cliche and the characters stereotypes, but it has been a long while since I've seen shounen anime. And by "a while", I mean since I was 10 years old or so.
And so, I was really just laughing in disbelief with all the autism from the fanbase here. It was bound to happen, especially in a fandom dominated by Tumblrettes or something.

This is the scene where I tapped out. I heard about this series from a friend and I went into it not knowing much, except that the artwork for it was pretty good. I read that Monty Oum had a hand in this, so I was willing to give it a shot. I thought the OP song was alright. The first action sequence was neat, I guess, but I didn't really have much of a reaction to anything else until this scene. Why do fans of this shitty show get so triggered when I point out its not an anime? Not that is matters literally at all, just making sure that a correct definition is maintained, that definition being "a cartoon made in Japan" (the word anime is literally a joke about how japs pronounce "animation") but since this show is made by an American company, well its just a cartoon. A cartoon isn't necessarily better than an anime and an anime isn't necessarily isn't better than a cartoon, there are good and bad examples and both.
