I've seen plenty of shitty photos taken with more than $1000 of camera gear. (which is really a pretty average price for a dslr+lenses) Loads of people buy $8,000 leicas and take badly framed, blurry shots with them. Conversely, it's possible to take professional quality shots on an iphone camera, if you know what you're doing. An expensive camera still won't make terrible photos look good.
Some of Rob's photos are decent. he's not the worst, but nothing at all special. Except when he's photoshopping lightning bolts into shit, or trying to take photos of stars in the middle of the city. Then he's pretty bad.
