I think he can draw very well but his colouring leaves a lot to be desired.

He should really layer his colored pencils so it doesn't look like a 10-year old colored it in. Is he using Prismacolor Scholars? Those pencils are crap at layering, (I think Sanford puts in a hardening agent in the Scholars so that the "lead" doesn't break as often but the downside is that it's next to impossible to do proper layering.) The Prismacolor Premiers are significantly more expensive but I like that you can buy individual pencils at art stores so you can really only buy the colors you use most often and don't have to spend hundreds on one of those 60 or 120 pencil boxes.

The truth is that he seems to have a solid foundation in cartooning skills (assuming the faces and bodies aren't just traced from elsewhere) but then he ruins it with colouring that looks like he did it in just a couple of minutes.

It's like looking at a competently-drawn but weirdly fetish-y coloring book that a kid's already colored in. I honestly think it's better for him just to leave them as line drawings or even to scan them and color them in in MS Paint than what he's doing, unless that's the point, for it to look like a "I have the weirdest boner" coloring book.
