Assult would be illegal even if it wasn't classified as a hate crime. The fact that name-calling is in there is insane, and could very well extend to the relm of the net.

Police makes stupid laws, don't make arrests because it would be pragmatically impossible, and life goes on. This is not something unique to this law. I don't think OP made this post because he actually was scared of this new policy, but rather because he wanted to mock it.
