Part of it is popular culture's championing anti-intellectualism (entertainment means a lot to Sick Nick), but another part of it is Nick's aversion to work. Productivity was never one of Nick's goals, so to him, education would seem to be a means to an end, if not an end in and of itself, of getting employed.
