I should add that we also have good well intentioned cops and I have trained with a couple in martial arts.Lots of cops do it to keep in shape. It's not that all cops are bad, it's just a bad system. They had gripes with it as well. Which probably influenced my thinking on the subject as this was my earliest real interaction with law enforcement. I had never even gotten a ticket when I started. Also my current girlfriends cousin is a sheriff. So it's not like I'm all "fuck the police", but our system is broken and that has led to some deaths.

I even did some scenario training for the police as an actor at one point, and that's when I realized that some cops are really fucking stupid. Some failed the written and needed help to pass the scenarios. They still got in. So we are apparently desperate for cops. Maybe if it payed better and we got rid of the bad ones so people wouldn't feel stigmatized for joining.

Sorry for the rant, but seriously bad cops shouldn't be a sjw only subject. That's entirely too many deaths by cop. It doesn't fluctuate enough with the violent crime rates to make sense.

They weren't tresspassing, the girl he pointed the gun at hadn't taken a fighting stance, and he didn't trip. He dived into half assed tumble. As to why he did that, my guess is too many kung fu movies. The other cops at the scene weren't chimping like him, and the kids were invited to a pool party there which they had cleared with the place. It started out as a misunderstanding between a regular and the party and escalated into one officer making a massive ass of himself and waving a firearm around. Never pull a fire arm out and point it at anyone you don't intend to use it on. That's actually in the police training. He pointed it at a lot of kids who weren't threatening him. He ran around with it out and waved it about. There is no defending that guy. The other cops were just doing there job and it should have been sorted. When they didn't leave immediately and obstructed a pathway there should have been at most a ticket written. They were arguing because they hadn't been asked to leave by the staff. It was some old lady who called it in. That was where it all got messed up. Cops should have asked the staff what was going on first. No reason to create a confrontation if there is no need.

All it took was one bad cop. If the events happened as you described then the other cops wouldn't have looked so confused at him.

Cops are issued tasers and other less than lethal devices, including clubs. They have always. The gun is your last resort. Not your go to. Imagine if cops pulled guns on everyone they arrested for none compliance. The 60's and 70's would have been a lot different.

I couldn't agree more about blm. The problem is that it's not a top down operation. It's less organized and more factional than the cacophony society is, and those guys are doing it on purpose. The Black Lives matter movement was in part conceived of in an attempt to emulate the success of "anonymous". Some people noted how large anonymous protests grew out of a loosely knit online community, as well as the similar strategy of the occupy movement. They thought it would make it harder for the opposition to infiltrate and provide an unignorable diverse group that could get away with more shit because the public couldn't hold the actions of a few against the group. Instead it just created a free for all that no pr team could tackle.

If they had actual leadership then they would have let the one civil rights activist running for president speak and wouldn't have let the one who took the Mic respond to the criticism by saying that he only got arrested at a sit in so he could brag about how progressive he was later in life to his white friends, or called a Jew who lost relatives in the holocaust an "old white man" who's opinions on civil rights mean less than hers because of the color of his skin. Talk about a PR nightmare. They probably set the civil rights movement back 10 years, but it will be hilarious to look back on next decade. We should keep an eye on that particular girl. She could provide future lulz.
