I actually like some Studio Ghibli, but a lot of their fans are basically tumblrinas. Which is why you get such a viceral reaction when you bring up Miyazaki to some people.

Seems fair, there's going to be hits and misses in each genre. Understandably shonen has a bad rep because of some merch driven battle shonen like pokemon/naruto/one piece/ect. On the other hand Zeta Gundam was created to sell plastic robots and it turned out great

Upon further review (and a bit of sobriety), you're right. Still, people like that make me cringe. On one hand, you have people who are pretty much pedos and that's why shows like Lucky Star exist and on the other hand, you have people who won't acknowledge an anime more recent than Gundam Wing exists. Animu is filled with cancer, but there are some good shows. I mean, Gainax tends to have a pretty consistent quality output.

The fad nowadays is doing Let's plays because it requires less editting and you can shit out a ton of videos in a day by basically talking while playing games. Having a vlog channel on the side for more jewtube bux is also popular
