With art you get savants. So throw that whole IQ thing out the window. Rika simply doesn't have a natural eye for it, and he will never be good. You can't simply learn to be a great artist. My cousin is a great natural artist, but she chose to go into textiles. The drawing part was never her interest. Which is depressing because it's what she's good at. You don't get to choose what you're good at. You can foster it, which is what art school did for her. But you need the raw materials. Google Grandma Moses.

Even if his IQ was normal he'd never be a great photographer. He just chose to try because it involves nude woman and never had the eye to make other art. All those years of art school and he still draws worse than Chris Chan. You can't really teach art. You can teach art appreciation and method, but without natural talent you are going nowhere.

This is Tim's problem as well. It was also Hitlers problem, and he probably had a tripple digital IQ. You can't make an artist. You either are one or you are not.

Compared to the others of his time he was a hack who couldn't draw anatomy or even get the buildings to scale. Also he had no imagination. He wasn't talented enough to get in.
