ED is still amazing, I check it daily.

Over time since being nice on the internet is the new trendy thing, less people were creating articles (that and people are still scared to make new articles because in the old days of ED if you wrote anything less than perfect or pissed off the admins they'd dox you and troll you to hell and back)

The staff that rebuilt ED is pretty cool, even though they troll shield. They are still about the most butthurt you can get, and I feel /cow/ and ED go together like PB and J.

They even do cool events like EDiots watching movies every saturday https://cytu.be/r/ediots_watch_movies

Its a great way to talk shit, make fun of political conventions, etc.

The forums are kinda boring, but I think its the interface of the forum and not so much the cocks.

TL;DR? ED it's self is still great but the times have changed so being a faggot is in vouge, The ed forums have a bad interface, and ED viewing parties are fun.

They still think they are relevent and hot shit.

The articles are fucking outdated. Even recent ones are still written with that prehistoric 2009 edgy style.

Somehow they still think it's funny and cool to make jokes and image macros of prehistoric events such a Columbine or VTech.

As of the forums itself? It's the complete oposite of the wiki. It's like /cow/ but more focused on real life drama. The only real fun is when some newfag decide to chimpout when someone vandalized their wiki User page.

Social Justice would probably be the modern day equivalent of a troll (take things out of context, dox, get people fired, etc.) but SJWs are the equal and opposite reaction to what anon was so long ago. They are not lulz, they are anti-lulz. Their "cows" are not fun to follow, and not fun to go after.

I think edgelords are necessary. Sure, it gets overdone, and it's what every 14 year old tries to be when they realize they can do things without mommy and daddy finding out, and when all you wanna do is be Mr/Ms/Mx offensive it gets annoying.

But lets face it, a lot of that edgelord subject matter is gold. I still laugh at sexist jokes. Shit is gold to me.

I only label it edgelording when the joke is flat and the punchline is only how offensive it is and not something clever.

Other than that, in modern times I think edgelord is just the overused go to soc. jus. "comeback" for people who tell jokes and say things that hurt fee fees and rustle feathers.

I do agree also that articles are outdated, but its because people aren't maintaining them. It is a sign of the times. People have other shit to do, and bullying is totes not cool guise. The new generation is obsessed with tumblr, selfies, and themselves. They are the perfect generation of narcisistic consumers that the US has been trying to breed forever…

Like >>204680 said, the site is still stuck in 2009. Most of the articles from that period and earlier are still funny, but the more recent ones feel kind of forced, like they're trying to emulate the style of the old ones.

As for the forums, I don't have too much experience there, but from what I've seen, it's basically /b/, but with namefags.

what fucking planet do you live on?

Reddit might be simple to use as a cocks aggregation, sure, but actually reading conversations to use it as a discussion place is a complete pain in the ass since they're sorted like comments on cocks instead of as a discussion (as /cow/ or EDF is.), tumblr is an absolute carcrash when it comes to usability since it just throws a bunch of shit together and hopes it works. facebook i'll grant probably the best usability but it's still pretty mediocre.

EDF has a pretty reasonable layout all said (generic forum style, similar enough to kiwi farms or whategver), it just has an 'ironic' shit theme. the actual UI elements are pretty conveniently located and you can change the theme to be slightly less of an assault on the eyes with the style-chooser at the bottom of the page.

EDF is actually just a mixture of two things right now: a dedicated satirical wiki, and a closeknit forum community that has fun making fun of everything. Some of the people on there are pretty cool, and some of them are retarded faggots, but thankfully the latter always gets called out on their bullshit eventually.

One of the main unspoken laws there is "the nail that sticks out the farthest always gets the hammer."
