I agree there is no reason not to have the option, and not only did they make the cvar for it cheat protected, it is also now hidden and behind VAC protection. Crazy.

If you want a fair shot at getting that changed, talking about it here won't help I'm afraid. You have to go to the largest portion of the community for maximum visibility. I'm sure you can guess the one I am talking about.

I have to rile up like minded people and get them pissed off enough to do something, then have them realize they're not alone and THEN you collectively go to the only place Valve listens to.

And once some of THOSE people see that there are people being vocal and there's someone who will agree with them, some will actually speak their mind since they won't think they'll be unanimously shunned.

There are already like-minded people in that community. They've talked about it before, but there's always a tipping point you have to cross where it breaks out into a huge discussion, but that hasn't happened yet.
