hey anons, thinking of setting up a server for us to play on
but i don't anything to happen like ddosing, dox, etc
i know you anons (most of you anyway) wouldn't do that, but I just wanna be extra safe
is there any way to mask your IP while also letting people join?

I'm guessing you are implying that you would set up a server on a dedicated machine in your house, because if you were just buying server space with some provider then you wouldn't need to worry really.

The simple answer is probably to pay for a Virtual Private Network to route it through, but depending on a variety of factors that will just end giving everyone who plays on your server a higher ping than usual. Might as well just go buy server space and skip the whole VPN idea.

Hell yeah, I'm running a group for /cs/ Match Making atm, if you want you could tie the server to the group.

There was another group running a server for /cs/, but it was UK-based, it wasn't solely for 8ch, and it seems it's no long up. I put their group in the description if you'd rather tie it to them.

Alternatively you can make another group for the server and I'd put it in the description, the same way I did with Juandeeg's.
