>mfw playing csgo on 144hz monitor

How much of a difference does a good gaming monitor give one self in a game of cs go? I was thinking of getting a proper gaming monitor myself. Any tips?

It's so fucking smooth now. I used to play on a 60hz tv, and even though net graph showed I was getting 120 fps, I could see frame skips and get killed by people suddenly appearing around the corner. Now I'm actually jumping other players by surprise, and have managed to get the drop on two players and kill them before they can fire back. The screams of "HAX!" are boner inducing.

Playing with an aug or 553 is now easier to move from target to target while scoped in.

Just barely got my monitor this week. Don't be jelly though.

144h reporting in.

It doesn't make you a better player, it just makes the whole experience much nicer.

I disagree with this, my monitor flickers and always looks out of focus, often I find myself squinting and getting really close up to see if there's an enemy where I'm looking. Before that, I had a razor mouse that shat glue everywhere, and a keyboard that made me want to join ISIS. Good equipment vs bad equipment is a night and day difference. I also still lag like crazy when there's smoke on the screen. If my FPS was steady I think I could be a few ranks higher than I am, oh well. Eventually I'll upgrade, and I'll see if my theory is correct, for now I can only dream of not getting my eyes fucked out of their sockets by low FPS when any hint of particle effects appear on my screen.

You are talking about bad keyboards and mice, which directly impact the ability to control the game.

A monitor with a faster refresh rate only provides a marginal increase in improving the control of the game. The main increase is only in making the viewing experience more comfortable. I'm talking about when you have vsync off of course. Vsync on is a different story.

A great player will be a great player whether he is on 60hz or 600hz. A bad player will also be a bad player regardless of refresh rate.

60 fps is what should be considered the baseline for playing FPS games. Anything lower than that will start to drastically impact your minimum reaction time.

Of course.
