I'll begin with cacık (jah-JEEK). It's made with seasoned yogourt and cucumber and, while usually associated with Turkey, similar recipes can be found around the Balkans and the Middle East.
And man, cacık is great. To eat by itself, as salad dressing, in bread, fuck, even in French fries.
Here's my variation:
Ingredients and how-to:
Mix a cup of yogourt with a grated or diced cucumber. Then season it with minced garlic, minced peppermint, ground black pepper, salt and olive oil to taste (a tablespoon of oil should be enough). Then let it chill for 2h or so and enjoy.
