I think I first started liking Queen when I was maybe 11-12. Given how long it took for me to come out and how much I really loved their songs. I wonder if it was "speaking" to me on some subconscious way." The moody songs at least. On that thought I guess why I around that age I always really took it to heart when someone would call me a fag or whatever. It's given me much thicker skin though. Even these days I'm just bitter and depressed inside.

It's like post-metal but with emphasis on the post rock a hell of a lot.
I got tickets to see deafheaven 3 days in a row on their UK tour and also like tickets to 4 festivals, pic related, Roadburn, Download and Desertfest.
Also going to Scandinavia with the band next week for fun since the tickets were like 15 pounds return with ryanair. Never been outside the country or on a plane so it's gonna be pretty cool, had to go get a load of warm stuff because it'll be like -11C there.

Week was mainly spent with industrial stuff because I find Foetus and general industrial like really good for when I'm salty and despite being a generally chill guy most of my time has been spent making my hands bleed doing bag work from irritating matters.
But hey, take the good with the bad. At least the new Ulver was really enjoyable. Getting back into Foetus got me nostalgic over Throbbing Gristle and Coil's early shit like HTDA so nice by-product.

I was in that thread, made one of the last posts about making better connections with my family over it. Honestly I went back to the album following the thread and I forgot how much certain lines manage to fuck with me; I can understand why people shit on it for its over the top whacky-symbolism lyrical style but I feel that's the main reason it's so popular, the totally absurd lyrics can be applied to anyone's subjective experience with relative ease whatever the literal meaning.

Shit it was really late and I forgot to actually read your post the second time around when I was replying to it. I have the same relationship to industrial but you've definitely delved deeper than I in the genre. it's cool that you know Admiral Angry! I've never met someone who listens to them outside of the time I got introduced to them on /mu/ back in like 2011.
Yea GOD a good album overall with a few songs that really stick out, Animals being my favourite. It made me relisten to R+7 which never really stuck with me prior to this but now I love it. I haven't heard Zones yet tho so I'm definitely getting that once I get home
No.240973

Admiral Angry are really enjoyable, I still love how ham they go on their most recent release. Really blew me away. If you want more stuff that goes in that same balls-to-the-wall direction I'd recommend a Grindcore band called Discordance Axis and A mathcore band called Frontierer. The latter put out a new release this year and it's fucking zany.
https://discordanceaxis.bandcamp.com/album/our-last-day
https://frontierer.bandcamp.com/album/orange-mathematics
And I hope you enjoy Zones, I really like it because it's probably Lopatin's most successful attempt in the ambient direction with a really nice Prog-electronic revival feel. It's actually very reminiscent of the Blade Runner soundtrack in a few respects. If you end up liking it and want more stuff similar I'd recommend Does it look like I'm here? by Emeralds. Very glitchy, ambient prog-electronic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEA8eFDUeAA

Also dude I'm liking Zu a lot, hard to figure out what I'd recommend. First thing to come to mind is this to some extent:
http://milliard1.bandcamp.com/track/facing-the-end
Otherwise in the same line of atonality except maybe Wormed, althought that's moving a little out of that jaggedness into more tech-death but still gud. As for the slamming dirty af low-frequency basslines at the start the best bet would probs be the Body, they're a great outfit if you don't mind traying more into the areas of Funeral doom/Drone doom.

-The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

Yooooo
Metalhead cuteboy here, really getting into Acacia recently. I'm personally more of a death metal fan, but there is some killer deathcore. Last Ten Seconds of Life is great too. Check out a band called The Dialectic if you haven't yet - pretty good stuff.
Recently it's been Scar Sighted by Leviathan for me. Best album of last year imo - avant-garde black metal at it's finest. I've been thinking about getting the Crescent Moon logo on my right arm, just below the shoulder. Pics related.

Nah I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet, still diving deeper and deeper into his other two albums right now. I heard that it was good, but not TPAB or GKMC good. Sort of like the things that was cut from the both in a low-fi way. Very ovbious that's what he was going for with the whole untiled unmasted name it has for the whole recored and each song it has. I really need to listen to this one of these days
