 No.229773

Im cured with fast growing hair and it really bugs me. I pretty much have to shave every day, but I ordered an epilator the other day, it arrived this morning and oh my god the pain is terrible. Any of you qts know any good ways to remove hair for long periods of time or stunt the growth? I need to get this sorted out. ;_;

Mainly talking about legs and mid section, face is fine to shave.

Read the sugaring threads.

Mix 2 cups of sugar, 1/4 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and 1/4 cup of water then boil the mixture on a high heat until it's a dark amber/reddish colour. Test the consistency by taking a spoonful of the mixture and dipping it in water to cool it down. If it pulls apart it's ready, if it stretches it's not done yet. Pour the mixture onto a wet surface, wait a few minutes for it to cool and bring in the edges with a spoon, then scoop it all up and put it in your hands, wet your hands occasionally while kneading the mixture until it's opaque yellow in colour.

It's home made wax, it's cheap as shit and less painful than real wax. Messy as fuck to make though, just pour boiling hot water on everything the mixture sticks to.

thanks, i'll give it a look. I wasnt sure if that stuff really worked or not.

It works really well, just cook it properly. Dark amber.

Otherwise you'll end up with a runny mess that's useless.

Can this be used anywhere or no?

Depends on your pain tolerance.

The more sensitive areas like your inner thighs and your crotch will sting a bit but areas like your butt, chest, legs and so on shouldn't hurt that much. It's nowhere near the pain of an epilator.

For best results make sure the hair is between 1/8 and 1/4 of an inch long. Push the wax on against the direction of hair growth then pull it down and away in the direction of hairgrowth, not up. Think of it like the path of least resistance for the hair to come out.

>epilator

I just looked this up, and it looks like a fucking torture machine. This is right out of a horror film, seriously.

Kind of off topic, but I just shaved my butt and pubic area for the first time, and while it was god damn annoying as all hell, it feels so cool now. I didn't know my skin there could get so soft and smooth, it's great.

You'll wake up tomorrow and feel stubble, it sucks. Then over the next few weeks you'll get red bumps all over the area you shave as the hair grows back. There is no god.

it really is. I heard about it here and someone said it worked great. I used it on both of my legs and part of my mid section… I cried for a solid 10 minutes. It's awful, never use one.

I can't help but think /cuteboys/ is full of faggot crybabies seeing all these posts about how much epilators hurt but does it really hurt that much?

Would even the toughest of men get teary eyed if the epilated?

 No.229790

>>229788

Well I just now found out about it, so I obviously haven't tried it myself, but that just looks disturbing. I can't imagine getting my pubic hair epilated.

 No.229794

>>229790

I hear if the hair is too long instead of getting plucked it just rips the part it grabs off from the other half of the hair. Imagine a guy pulling your hair so hard he rips a fistfull of it off.

 No.229798

>>229788

I've got a relatively high pain threshhold, and I'll tell you that the first time, it FUCKING HURTS. It's a pain that you can't possibly brace yourself for. It hurts less against taut skin, but the first time you do it, it's going to hurt a lot. Plus, epilators look scary.

Once you're used to it, though, there's really no better way to remove hairs. The machine pinches and rips the hairs out by the root, and they stay gone for like.. A week. It's very, very effective, if you can handle it. It also takes SO MUCH FUCKING TIME.

 No.229805

I use Nair and that shit works wonderfully. Apply it for three to five minutes, then go into the shower and wipe the hair off with a damp cloth, and then boom, smooth as silk. Doesn't even hurt, it actually feels kind of good in a way, like warm and tingly.

 No.229806

>>229805

how long does it last?

 No.229808

>>229806

Typically, and this can change with how thick your hair is, a couple of weeks. I've heard that if you have sensitive skin it will burn, so be careful. Also, read the bottle and follow that shit because things could get ugly. Protip: Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the hair on your head because I've heard stories.

I'll look into that, sounds like it could be what im looking for. How expensive is this stuff usually and can I buy it online/any places you recommend ?

I tried nair but it didn't work very well for me. It still left stubble hairs and not the smooth as silk finish i was hoping for. What am i doing wrong?

The one I bought was about seven dollars, and I buy it at my local supermarket. I'm sure you could grab it from Rite Aid.

Leave it on for a little while longer, do not go over ten minutes. I normally leave it on for 4-6 minutes depending on what area I'm doing.

Its one of those things I learned from cycling. it makes a world of difference for chaffing. Seriously. Live by it. Love it. A lot of cyclists use it. Its surprisingly cheap.

What's a nice epilator I can find in Australia? Something I wont have to get shipped from France.

 No.231511

I epilated once or twice or three times. I don't know what you'd call it since I did it over like 4 days because I just couldn't handle the pain all at once. The one spot that really screwed me over was epilating the back of my thighs. HOW THE FUCK do you epilate that shit? Couldn't handle that spot at all. Shins and calves were bearable, top of the thighs getting trickier, back of my thighs just killed me though.

>>231500

A bunch of tweezers hooked up to an electric motor - they're all the same. Just order the cheapest one online from like dick smith or a department store or w/e. They probably have sales on right now.

 No.231537

>>229781

Is that just the minimum length or can it be longer?

 No.231541

>>231500

Where are you from? I just bought an emjoi one from ebay locally in Melb a few weeks ago. All I can say is that it is painful as fuck, like the other anon said. More painfull than waxing since it's a more drawn out pain not an instant release. Also wasn't overly impressed with how smooth it made me, I might use it for my legs when I want to wrap them around someone but I'll probably just stick to shaing tbh.

>>231511

My thighs were pretty okay for the most part, did you ever dry butt and stuff though? I haven't been able to find the courage to try it on my cheeks and taint and stuff yet, lol.

>high heat

Is that "need a gas stove" kind of high heat? Or just high on my electric stove?

And what do I boil it in? Just a pot? Large? Small?

What do you mean by 'pulls apart'? Like if I can separate it with a spoon? If it disintegrates in the water?

Wet surface? Just like a wet pan?

How much does this make? Enough for both legs, butt, and boy bits? If I cook a couple batches can I store them for later or does it have to be fresh?

Does it have issues pulling out really thick hair? When epilating I have to go over the same spot a couple times before I can get *most* of the hair there.

How come this isn't as prevalent as strip waxing?

Umm, you should've just trimmed first with scissors and then shaved the short bristles.

>Just finished plucking my entire pubic area again

This time I paid attention to my youtube soundtrack playlist after I was done with both sessions. Only took me about 3 and a half hours total, which amazes me. Last time, I had thought it took over 5.

That's still a stupid amount of time, though. But look on the bright side! I've got the cock and balls of a 12-year-old for the next couple of months!

The hair was like 2mm long and it still hurt to shave it. My hair is just that thick.

 No.232389

>Is that "need a gas stove" kind of high heat? Or just high on my electric stove?

Sugar decomposes at a lower temp than it's boiling point, to get it yellow, an electric is faaar enough. If it can reach 200°C, it's good to go.

 No.232393

>>231561

Like the second or third highest heat on your electric stove. Boil it in a medium or large pot, the mixture will get very frothy and constantly be on the verge of boiling over so don't use a tiny pot or you'll have sticky shit all over your stove, when it starts to boil over lift the pot up and stir to let it cool then set it down again when the bubbles go down a bit. You should be able to pull off a chunk when the mixture is cool, it won't disintegrate it'll just go hard. Just dip it in cold water a few times until you can safely touch it and if it stretches then it's not done yet but if you can pull off a chunk and mold it into a pea sized sphere then it's done. Wet plate or even marble countertop would be better, you wet it so the mixture doesn't stick to it.

Depends on how hairy you are but one batch is enough to do your whole body even if you're hairy EVERYWHERE. You can keep using the same blob over and over until it loses its stickiness and starts falling apart/melting. Any extra mixture can be put in tinfoil or saran wrap and put in the fridge. When you wanna use it just add two tablespoons of water and heat it in the microwave until it's useable.

It's not as prevalent as waxing because people are used to waxing and they don't want to try something new, not many people have even heard of sugaring. Salons don't wanna take the financial risk of something not many people would even be open to trying.

 No.237201

>>231537

Not that anon, but that's the minimum length – it can be longer. It just has to be long enough for the sugar wax to grab hold of it.

 No.237254

To my shaveboys

To avoid razor burn, make a coconut oil and sugar scrub! Look recipe up onLine and apply it thirty minutes before your shave. Does wonders for your skin as well

Anyone know if Nair or Nads is good?

fugg, I tried sugaring, but the mixture came out rock solid as soon as I tried molding it. Does anyone have video tutorials I could reference next time to avoid fucking up?

My chest hair is especially tough so even if I shave it you can still see the stubble. These things are like a giant pair of tweezers. You can get a good 5+ hairs at once and pull them out from the roots.

 No.237989

>>237867

Rock solid means you over cooked it.

You have to be very careful because it can go from dark amber to burnt very fucking fast. I gave up on sugaring because of how much prep is required, how messy cleaning up is and how hard it is to cook it properly. There's tutorials on youtube.
