1. Soak in water in a jar overnight.
2. Bring to a boil(The sensible thing would be to first bring a pan of water to a boil, then remove water from oats jar then add soaked oats, drop the heat and let it simmer; but ain't nobody got time for that shit so just throw the water and oats from the jar in a pan and bring it to a boil)
2'. Fun fact: That water magically turned into oatmilk over night.
3. Add a pinch of salt
4. Keep boiling(or simmering) until most of the water is gone. It's up to you wether you remove all of the water or leave a lot in. If you want to lose a lot of wait you can leave a lot of water in to trick yourself into thinking you've got a bigger portion.
5. Congrats! Now your oats are done. Now comes the fun part. You've got your base. Now the artist in you has to come out!
6. Top it off with any(or all) of the following:
-Diced fresh fruit(Apples, Bananas, Citrics, Peaches, Grapes, Berries)
-Dried Fruit
-Nuts (Any or all kinds)
-Seeds
-Yogurt(if you add yogurt you won't have to wait for it to cool down. Use greek or plain yogurt. Don't have sweetened or low-fat)(Fuck I remembered you don't like milk so not yogurt…shit)
-Lemon Zest
-Honey or Maple Syrup
-Soy Sauce(Its really good but it overpowers almost anything else, maybe it goes with apples; if you like salty then pick this, if you can't stand salty stay away from this)
-Chocolate(this turns oatmeal from a weightloss food to a fattening one, but might as well treat yourself once in a while. A low calories version would just have some dark chocolate grazed on top; Don't combine this with yogurt 'cuz it won't melt)
Personal Favorite: Banana, Wallnuts and Honey.
!NEVER USE INSTANT OR MICROWAVE OATS. You might as well be eating cardboard at that point.
Why don't you just use plant-based milk or yogurt though?
