I have reasonably bad anxiety, but I'm also lonely so sometimes I come to Steam threads to find people to talk too. After the first few days of talking to people I start to wonder if they're losing interest or just plain don't like me, even if there's no reason to think that. It's retarded I know, but it's just what happens.
I'll want to message someone, but I don't want to be annoying either. So I'll say to myself "well if he wants to talk he'll message me" and for a bit people usually do, but after a while I guess people get bored with always being the one intitiating conversation and they stop messaging. Meanwhile I'm still thinking they'll message if they want to talk and when they never do it ends up making me sadder and even less likely to message people.
Maybe I'm just rambling and this doesn't actually make any sense but maybe this is also a bit of a helpful insight into people who do this sort of thing.

To any new anons considering posting their ID, I would advise you not to do it. After a few months of talking to people who added me on here, I can confidently say that most of them are fucking psycho and/or play CS:GO non-stop. I would recommend sifting through the IDs which are already posted, and finding someone who seems to suit you and has similar tastes. Don't add people who grind out 1 game like CS:GO or Dota 2 and don't add people who have low class or morals (cheaters, ERP whores, furries, etc.)
Just try to find real people who act with common decency and are looking for a mutual exchange as a bond between friends. It's difficult but it can be done, oftentimes the best users aren't those posting their IDs but friends of friends or even email contacts.
