Person who read the bible here, let me explain. Basically the whole reason Jesus came down is because no one could follow the old rule completely. Therefore all old testament laws are sort of respected but as long as you're with Jesus you're forgiven.

The Act of Homosexuality is still a Moral Law. the Tradition laws that the jews followed in the OT fines and animal offerings don't apply because Jesus fulfilled a bunch of obligations from the OT. So things like circumcision, etc were no longer needed.

It's not ok to be gay, because of the Moral Law agaisnt Sodomy. Which original connotative to Gay Rape (It was a common act in the city of Sodom)

but confers to any despicable sexual act. Some people considered Oral to be Sodomy, but it's talked about in the Song of Solomon with the writers wife. So it's fine. Though ejaculating in anything but a vagina is considered immoral.

Well Jesus said simply looking at a woman with lust is a sin and is equal to adultery Matthew 5:28; so I imagine looking at any sort of "lewd" stuff is bad for him.

Christianity is nothing but an endless guilt trip anon. I recommend to you to read authors like Bart Ehrman, he gives great arguments against it.

It isn't meant to be a guilt trip, though. Christianity is really about becoming aware of the traps of conscience and the despair that it causes. It isn't much different from Buddhism or Taoism, really, just another form of the same philosophies. Unfortunately it continually gets misinterpreted as a religion designed to make us feel guilty, when really it's supposed to be a guideline on how you should live (or at least how you should approach life choices) rather than an attack on the way people currently live.

The Catholic Church has admitted in The CCC that it has no explanation for why some people are gay. They don't know, end of story.

However, with regards to being a good Christian, there are two reasons why gay sexual acts are condemned. And it is only sexual acts.

the quote from Leviticus (see above) can be disregarded since that is old law, something that was overturned by Jesus essentially and may only apply to Jews. I don't know what they think of Leviticus, so I wont speak for them.

however, the statement is repeated almost verbatum in the New Testament (maybe in Paul's Letters and Acts, but i can't remember.) So again we are confronted with Homosexual acts and their immorality.

The first reason they are considered immoral is because they can not fulfil the duel nature of sex, which is the creation of life. A penis in a butt will never create a human being. (as a side, this does not mean sterile men and women can't have sex. Their parts fit and they are doing all they can to create a baby. Also, there is a chance that a baby will be conceived, albeit a small one.)

The second reason the sex act is immoral is because of a bit of an overlapping dogma.

All Christians are called to abstinence from premarital sex. Because a man and man or a woman and a woman can not get married in the eyes of the church, they can not have sex because it is considered premarital. That one may seem a bit cheep, but it applies across the board to everyone, gay and straight.

To wrap this all up, if you want t be a good Christian then you need to practice self control (something that is hard, but possible. We are humans after all, not instinctual animals) and not have gay sex or any sex outside of marriage.

If you do, it is considered sin. However, one sin is no greater than the other, meaning you don't get a one way ticket to hell because you slept with a /cuteboy/

And gay sex is something that can harm your partner. A penis is not meant to go inside a butt, it's supposed to go into a vagina. They're reproductive organs, not "squeeze here to feel good" organs. Anal intercourse is far more likely to cause STD's to develop because 1. It is a hole in which bodily waste (the stuff you're not meant to have in your body) is meant to be expelled. Also, anal intercourse causes flesh on the inside of the anus to stretch and break, allowing semen (something that carries STD's and is not meant to be in a butt) easier access to infect the body.

And there of plenty of religions that have come and gone throughout the centuries. The time it lasts is not the penultimate proof of its validity, but there it has to contain a certain amount of truth to last as long as it does.

Also the only other mention ive found is in Romans, but this was written by Paul and is written in the context of Jew God, so I dont really think it applies.
