the problem with a more lenient rule is that inevitably some dumb horny kid will take a dick pic or post in a hookup thread and then you can end up with a really messy, potentially life-ruining legal situation for everyone involved

I don't particularly like it cus the exact age is different depending on where you live but in the US it's generally 18 so 18 it is.
