Looking for some /cyber/ friends. Any place where I should look? Maybe go we could go dumpster diving together, build tech together, do schway things together?

Is there a website where I can find other schway people like us?

but yeah, can deal with hipsters but there's a reason i don't go to "hacker" spaces in portland.

I made a zeemap thing. Also, this is to find other people who are like us. I'm not saying this is a hacker group, but this is only to find schway friends that have similar interests.

Oh sorry man from the way you wrote and the fact that you seemed to live in capital hill I just assumed you were a hipster and shit.

Then of course you responded with 3 word replies and pictures so it was kind of hard to have a conversation so I could see why you might be confused.

The general point is that throughout the city there is a decent hatred for the out of towner hipsters who came in. And that's why they've been targeted for robberies and shit by the more lower income members of the city.

The answer is actually fucking yes. No there isn't that dreary, damp atmosphere most cyberpunk places exhibit and it's too damn hot to wear that schway polyester hoodie you copped, but pretty much everything in this city is ran by the 4 groups that control the casinos and while not as present now, the Mafia. We just need an area for techies. The local Fries isn't cutting it.

Big companies such as Microsoft are right around it, it's been a port for plenty of other places with their culture and of the like, and even though WA seems to have an open mind due to the mixed pot of culture and way of thinking, there are plenty of exceptions and rules that would limit/hinder your privacy all the while.

They already know where I am. Grew up in a thuggish hood, so not scared. Worst that could happen is someone trys to jack me, again. Big deal. Meet in public populated place, bugout if needed.

Your fasle sense of security is quaint. If doxing can do you damage, you have bigger problems you're unwilling to address (the fragility of your situation, for instance).

I could exploit this board right now and exfiltrate your drive contents via browser vuln, then show up at your house. The same goes for damn near any website. Seriously, anyone can buy the exploits too if they have a little cash. Have you planned for this contengency? I have. Thats security. Trying to hide in the online panopticon? All the popular code is so insecure even VMs have exploits available. Any phone baseband is so insecure all it takes is a multimedia message to give an attacker root right now. Pinning a map with your general location should be the least of your worries.

Your security isn't if you're scared of a meetup. The best defense is a good offense.

 No.14240

>>14234
All I've given out is my town and a throwaway email. If anyone can manage to get dox me from either of those small bits of information, I would be impressed.

And as the other anon >>14237 said: Only a dumbass would meet someone they met online somewhere other than a public place.

It is far more important, in the interest of resisting state oppression, to have comrades than to potentially be slightly more secure so long as the State is uninterested enough in you to not use its vast resources to find you. One can isolate themselves and hide from the world, but they're not going to change anything doing so and they're only going to put off whatever bad shit is happening in society from reaching them.

How do you really know it exists, privacy and security?

Between yourself and the server serving you this content, do you personally know any of the individuals or corporations supposedly safeguarding the privacy and security of your information? Do you know the people inside of the central offices where your data flows before being aggregated onto the backbone of the net? How about the backbone providers and their facilities, who do you know there?

Not to say that your idea isn't smart. It is. But how far do you believe in it? How far have you tested it? How much have you invested in discovering whether your concept of privacy was real or imagined?

Not saying you're wrong. Just saying you need to question what you think you know. The deeper you hold the belief, the further you should challenge it.

Then you'll see.

 No.14288

>>14286

 No.14294

>>14288

Like others have said, Microsoft headquarters. Also Amazon headquarters. Starbrouzouf Headquarters. In other words, a fair amount of headquarters of big companies (I didn't list all of them, obviously.) There is a lot of variation in socioeconomic class, as well as varying political beliefs. Just a few years ago, we had people who were radical anarchists break from a march to bash out a bunch of windows from businesses. We have a socialist on the city council.

TL;DR version
Lots of variance in socioeconomic conditions, a fair amount of tech companies, etc.

Above ground its all manicured and peaceful, its basically elisium, below ground its a network of bombproof tunnels connecting military bases, government bunkers, and datacenters full of spooks. Having been in some of those deep underground datacenters, they are literally built to keep out ninjas and drilling equipment.

You ever get into cave clan anon? This city has the sickest tunnels to explore, you can make it into the old departmental tunnel network if you're smart about it, you just gotta dodge the carts and robots running along the roads down there. Where the tunnels meet the library there are robotic librarians roaming in pitch black archives. Parliament house is the most expensive capitol building in the world, and its a huge sprawling expanse underground. That new military headquarters they dont talk about is rumoured to descend a kilometre straight down. You been in guy fawkes tunnel yet anon? Been to the underground chapel?
