Anyone else here into "performance clothing"? Shirts you can wear for days on end, water-resistant trousers, blazers with concealed pockets, etc.

I'm looking to put together a wardrobe that's as functional as possible whilst being small as possible, since I'd like it to be able to fit into a backpack.

 No.25187

>>25184

Just look into army surplus shops, can't get more functional than that.

 No.25190

>>25187

There's a shitload of civilian clothing that is leagues ahead of anything the military has, most stuff in the army is made to be cheap and replaceable when it breaks.

 No.25243

>>25190

>leagues ahead of anything the military has

Not really, a lot of civvie clothing its made to be halfway durable so you'll buy more, planned obsolescence of sorts, besides fashion companies want you to come back as fast as possible to buy more shit while mil-contractors have to deliver something that will last X amount of time or else they don't get the contract

 No.25255

>>25243

I'm a soldier, there's nothing special about our clothing.

 No.25260

>>25184

I really like 5.11's line of pants and shirts. Well made and seem to have most of the things you are looking for.

 No.25287

OP, I know that feel and I couldn't find anything sold out there that quite met my needs. So I get my clothes customized at a local tailor. Was actually working on a pair of pants this month. I design em, the tailor gets em done.

I pick up pieces of clothes that I need for their utility and combine parts of them. For instance, for these pants; I got a basic lightweight pair of cargo pants, some adidas running clothes with those little parts that let air through so it can breathe and keep you cool, a pair of kneepads and some ballistic gel.

I intend to put the elastic, breathing parts right where the pants bend and stretch, like behind the knees, by the shins etc. place some of the ballistic gel on spots that you tend to fall on while running / jumping around etc. to protect from impact damange, and install the kneepads into the pants themselves so they're a single unit that you can just put on.

Also, I stitch zippers onto all pockets on anything I wear, because I'm fucking paranoid I'm gonna drop what I'm carrying if my pockets don't have way to keep them closed, which isn't too illogical to be honest. Plastic zippers work best and don't tend to jam easily.

 No.25309

>>25287

I prefer plastic zippers since I'm terrified of passing my phone past a metal one

 No.25324

>>25184

5.11 pants are a good start. Those pants are high tech as fuck, that stretchy material bro

>>25190

Surplus clothing is outdated military crap.

 No.25328

>>25287

Have any of you tried putting a button in your front pocket? It boggles my mind why more pant manufacturers don't put buttons on the front pocket, to close them.

 No.25363

Any cheap pants out there that can accommodate an 8-inch laptop?

 No.25467

>>25243

anyone using the word civvie has no idea what they're doing

Nah. I don't want to look like an autist.

Came here to say this. Stone Island, especially Shadow Project, also. Enjoy not having the brouzouf

 No.25695

Because buttons break off. Zippers last m8.

It's all about the stain-resistant nano coatings, amigo.

Maybe some large pants and in a back pocket. The best I've gotten is fit a 7in tablet into my back pocket.

I don't find your clothes to be anything special but I do keep a few pairs of bdu?? (durable long cargos with big fat pockets and reinforced knees/stitching) pants around cause I'm hard on clothing and like the pocket setup better than carharts.

i'm laughing at how fucking retarded you must look and how useless and pointless it all is.

please give us a photo of your /clown/wear.

 No.29629

>>25184

I've been lurking for a good dust jacket to customize for tech pockets and such.

 No.29647

>>25483

Anything but cargo pants and camo you should be good, cyberpunk clothing is damn near modern fashion, look at the shit in fashion shows

And as far as techwear scottevest is pretty nice practical heavy duty stuff with lots of tech accommodations like pockets and routing for wires. I have a jacket with a thin portable charger that just leads to a micro USB connector in my phone pocket, get 3 times the battery life that way

 No.29678

>>25184

I would let that guy destroy my asshole

 No.29861

>>29647

Camos I can understand as those are atrociously conspicuous, but why cargos?

They seem to be moderately common.

 No.29901

>>29861

If you're not a spotty nerd they're pretty obvious, there's a reason people call them 'shoot me first pants'

 No.29916

>>29901

> 'shoot me first pants'

That's the first time I hear that.

Though I agree that 'moderately common' is not common enough for nondescript status.

 No.30048

>>29916

>>29901

I think at this point cargo pants are common enough to be nondescript

 No.30061

>>29678

with a useless holster like that? you're clearly more about aesthetic than function.

 No.30081

>>29901

>If you're not a spotty nerd they're pretty obvious

Who else would be wearing cargo pants? Am I supposed to be worried that it's obvious that I'm a nerd? Are people going to shoot me over it? I don't think so.

I'd be more suspicious of the dude in jeans, sneakers and a plain white T, since he's trying so hard to fit in that he actually stands out.

>there's a reason people call them 'shoot me first pants'

What kind of mall ninjas do you hang out with? Who's going to shoot you? A random mass murderer who hates pockets?

 No.30084

>>30048

I suppose I'll have to do some spotting to see the proportion around here.

 No.34859

>>25184

I want some of this for innawoods so i'm genuinely interested.

 No.34887

>>30061

I think his holster is fine if you get my drift.

 No.34899

>>30081

>I'd be more suspicious of the dude in jeans, sneakers and a plain white T, since he's trying so hard to fit in that he actually stands out.

I wear that. Trying to finally get t-shirt with some random nondescript printing and subdued colors in addition to the usual plain shirts with no prints.

Not that I'm really nondescript due to my beard and dislike of shaving it fully.
