Lately i've been getting super into internet radio. I feel like it's a somewhat cyber way to get your news, what with fewer FCC regulations than actual radio, and if you dig deep enough you can find stations not slaved to the megacorp/botnet/government-controlled media.
Does anyone here listen to online radio stations? If so, post the links and descriptions for 'em.

I kinda dig what Free Radio Santa Cruz stands for… music's not very cyber, but sometimes they've got the news going on there and the fact that they were originally a pirate radio station is very onboard with the punk bit of cyberpunk

Awesome.
Thats the first time I'm listening to this kind of radio, let alone a tech/cyberpunk themed one.
Can someone give me a quick explanation of how these are done ? Are they on all the time ? I'd love to use mplayer + cron to log in with it.

I have my favorite local radio station I listen while driving, and I listen to it trough the internet when home, because this is 21st century and why the fuck would I need a radio in my house when I got internet. Well, actually, I have an old radio, but it's still more convenient to listen trough the net.

Weird, I've been using Quod Libet for all the streams so far with no problems, but as soon as I try to add murdercube.com:8080/stream.m3u
It says "unknown url type", followed by saying that no internet radio streams were found at the address.

To anyone else having problems with /k/ radio, I was able to get it to work by first downloading the m.3u and then pointing Quod Libet at it directly. Using ~ for my home didn't work so I had to type in the whole path. Just lettin' ya know.

Nice, when do they broadcast news? I'm not really interested in listening to the archives. It loses its charm when it's not happening live. I know it happens Mondays, but it doesn't say when.

Sounds to me like they only release them on soundcloud, they don't broadcast them live.

We're a music based radio station that plays basic /mu/core when there's nobody specific streaming, other than that anyone can go on there at any time and stream basically whatever the fuck they want, we don't care. IRC information is on there, and if you are wanting to stream you want to go there and talk to one of the mods/experienced streamers because 1. a mod has to give you voice before you can start a stream, and 2. the server information on the main website isn't as reliable as getting it directly from an experienced streamer for the station.
