went to the cataloque to search and saw NO threads on TPP
Really? You guys call yourselves /cyber/ and this whole board is more about fashion and music than actual cyberpunk events. The Internet is about to die in 5 days and anyone with a bad record is going to risk prosecution and none of you fuckers care.

How could you ever live in a /cyber/ world without TPP et al? All >>>/cyber/ should be cheering for these. We need those treaties to be passed first, then we can finally enjoy living in our wildest dreams.

And what should we do? Seriously… there's nothing it can be done now. Only reactive measures that, with all certainty, won't work.

I think the point is that it's odd a bunch of punks aren't prematurely mourning the death of their homeland.

No, anything could be done now, my friend. But won't. The whole TPP triangle could be finished by tomorrow evening, and new world order established, but it won't. A billion people could right now storm the streets, burn corporate hqs to the ground, hang every politician and shoot on sight anyone dressed in a suit. No army could stop them as the numbers would be way to great and chaos and violence way to high. But this won't happen, as with anything in life, it's very simple but not easy.
Reminds me of Sun Tzu (I think): "Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?"

The TPP was secret in the first place, I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with yet another secret plan involving the same countries with even more draconian corporative regulations in the next 6 - 12 months.

Amerifags just like their guns to claim they can fight the government with them, not to actually fight the government.
The fact that they have weapons changes nothing for the government. They know fluoride in the tap water is more than enough to stop any attempt of starting a revolt.

I bet you go on about "m-muh chemtrails", too.
Face it, America can't even do jack shit against a bunch of goat farmers with rusty AKs, just like they lost to a bunch of junglegooks in Vietnam. Take all of the issues with Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, but drop them on our own soil where every collateral casualty is a citizen with friends and family who are also citizens, the inability to use anything heavy, and frankly absurd numbers of armed, if untrained, individuals. Add onto this the fact that simply forcing soldiers to fire on their countrymen (much less fight them in a full-on revolution) would result in a significant part of the military deserting or defecting outright, and taking all of that nice shiny equipment with them.
Yeah, "changes nothing".

The problem is that the politicians are careful to avoid stepping on the landmines. Make no mistake, there are landmines. They just aren't where you'd expect them to be because people are kept conveniently distracted.
