Let's talk about megacorps and how they deal with dissadents and how the corps function

killercoke.org

Link related it's how cocacola killed union workers in various countries.

This was posted on Lainchan, not sure if was here but: https://abc.xyz/

Some megacorps work with the feds to pre-shut down protests.

Some have shill-armies that manipulate online discussion surrounding their interests.

Most normies are blissfully ignorant that megacorps simultaneously turned the surface web to shit while selling it as a platform for discussion.

>everything I don't like can be dismissed with meme buzzwords

This is why 8chan is turning to shit. We may have MUH FREEDOMZ here, but the borderline-insane lack of moderation on 8chan and on /cyber/ is starting to show more in negatives than positives.

Sure, you can post whatever you want and not have to worry about the will of the mods being exercised on you in almost any way shape or form, but the problem with this is that the mods are the only ones who have any means of suppressing shitposters and raiders. This effectively gives these people free reign to derail and ruin anything and everything that they don't like, and the mods have to sit back and act as though what they're doing is preserving muh free speech on teh interbuttz, when really all they're doing is allowing for people who are clearly ruining the board to continue to do so and forcing the community to try to drown out the shitposters or raids or "shills" or bait threads or what have you. I mean, for fuck's sake, just look at how /intl/ has abused this under the guise of muh rulecucks; they're clearly only interested in the free speech ideals 8chan cares about because it enables them.

Say what you want about the quality of 8chan's average posts, but this post >>30644 just illustrates my point. For every good post that comes up here or on other boards, there are two more shitposts that for some inexplicable reason get far more replies.

Lainchan may have some controversies as I understand it about their comparably stricter moderation, but you can't deny that the quality of their content is far superior to the majority of 8chan's average posts, and it's a far comfier board in general because the users aren't the same kinds of halfchan-tier retards we came here to avoid.

Plus the ability to make boards on here is effectively useless. It's practically impossible to make a board here and get any decent amount of usership.

Oh and of course this site just runs like a ghetto piece of trash in comparison to Lainchan. The fucking banners haven't been working across the whole site for, what, a month now? And we still have CAPTCHA, and in general pages load more slowly and posts frequently get truncated.

I don't even lurk Lainchan that often right now, honestly, but I'm getting very disillusioned with 8chan. Despite how briefly its been around for, it's already starting to look like halfchan. It's nothing compared to what it used to be a year ago.

I live near Galveston, Texas.

We have this family around here called the 'Moody Family'. They try to enforce Home Owners Association rules on anything in their territory (even if they don't own it).

Now, normally cities have districts for rich, middle, and poor class people - Or at least it poorer you go further from the downtown area. Not Galveston, TX - it is a huge checkerboard of castles and ghettos. It is insane. There is some company that is combating the Moody's for territory on the island, and the huge businesses and events are meant for tourists, not citizens - causing the non-higher class people to get crushed and screwed over on their already ramshackle properties.

I know it's not a /cyber/ example, but it's the same concept in a smaller city.

If you think these new school billion dollar pussies are anything, you better think again.

The old war lords and military contractors, the financial institutions that rose to power before the empires fell, the oil & energy industries. . .

These are the mega corporations. Those with the literal power to unilaterally usurp countries, and who do so quite frequently. (Looking at you Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Iran and looking at you private centralized banking).

It's what happened in Guatemala in the early 50's, and Nicaragua.

While I'm not some filthy anti-GMO hippie, Monsanto fits well into the Megacorp spectrum. Niggas have their own fucking PMC.

Any megacorps from nipland? Seems like they started the whole trend, but everyone always just talks about google, facehook, and the oil and food companies.

 No.30741

>>30735

No megacorps from there. It seems that each nip corporation has its own niche market. All real megacorps originated from US because of their vile marketing strategies and desire to become a monopoly.

Sony is a corp, but its marketing and strategy is limited to consumer electronics.

 No.30748

>>30681

No, not even close you dumbass. There are very specific laws called "Antitrust laws" that every first world country has to prevent megacorps from happening. Also, none of those companies can check off the following:

"Megacorps are so powerful that they can ignore the law, possess their own heavily armed (often military-sized) private armies, hold 'sovereign' territory, and possibly even act as outright governments. They often exercise a large degree of control over their employees, taking the idea of 'corporate culture' to an extreme."

we all know that megacorps used to control territories and protect them with military force (their own or that of the goverment they controlled) in africa, but here's a recent example that shows just how strong megacorps are today:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/tedkaufman/2013/07/29/why-doj-deemed-bank-execs-too-big-to-jail/

those banksters were found guilty of laundering incredible sums of drug brouzouf for cartels, yet they were let go because they were too powerful to jail.

So, if a corp is large enough and influential enough, but doesn't act like a mindless brute, it's still not a megacorp?

Besides, why would they own their own army, when they can just rent NATO?

Corporate armies was a fantasy of the 80s, the harsh reality is, that you don't need an army as long as you can manipulate the media and have a few politicians in your pocket. Then whatever national army you might need, you can eventually use.

A brilliant scam, really, all the benefits, zero fuss.

>>30741

Only because they were broken after WW2, before that the zaibatsu essentially ``were`` the Japanese government. And even today they suck hard on that government teat, essentially having the ability to levy taxes on the population.

>>30747

>America may be the current home of corporatocracy, but they've got nothing on what Europe was up to during the colonial period.

Um, what do you think the EU is, precisely? It's a trade union started by the European Coal and Steel Community, European Economic Community and European Atomic Energy Community, a trade/industry focused groups now given political power.

Whereas in the US lobbying is more informal process happening, as per the word itself, in the lobby. In EU, it has become a formal part of the proceedings.

Jesus, why do you think Germany is pushing Syrian Refugees unto other countries? They want to drive labour costs down across the continent and what better way to do it, than to import a few "black robots" from Africa and the Middle East.

And so what if half or more of them will never work? The social costs will force governments to enter austerity, thus achieving much the same effect.

My point is, Megacorps don't need to have their own militaries, they can just rent the existing ones. And since they have been picking up cognitive studies graduates by the bushel, they have the psy-op skills to do it.

The most important thing for the mods to do is to remove porn crap spam like the stuff from the "lolita" spammer.

That is not glamorous or fun. It is a janitorial task.

Small wonder that the unpaid mods are slack in their janitorial efforts.

And after the unpaid mods burn out, there is no one to define what is shitposting and what is not.

And a bunch of wanna-be-mods whine and moan about shitposting, but they don't have mod privileges, so they can't take any action beyond complaining to everyone (and thus reducing signal-to-noise ratio).

I agree. I'm new to /cyber/ and there seems to be a lot more of that lolita shit in the catalog here than other boards. Slow board and not enough mods?

I'd remove it myself for free because I'm Neet.I have nothing better to do. I check in on this board multiple times a day. I like this board and some users post some real quality like >>33475

I'd love to see more on a busier board.

I'm not sure I'd be a good janitor though as I said before I'm new to /cyber/ and I'd be afraid of being too strict. Then again maybe that's what is needed.
