If the interest for 3d printers falls, that will be the case. the main problem currently is that the technology for consumer-grade printers is developing too slowly and that will most likely be the scenario.

this one is really nice, 3d printing, components pick and place, soldering them, automatic exchangeable heads, etc.
i think their price for a beta product is a bit too exaggerated. the actual cost is lowered for triple if you diy it.

this one is an upgraded version. its more reliable and all that so you wont need to get a pair of artificial balls if it accidentally discharges.
I personally believe that .22 ammo is bullshit but it could be easily adapted to 9mm which is easier to find.
And of course, with 3d printer you need to have a 3d scanner.

this one seams easy enough to diy, even for a beginner. you can source that stepper out indoor air-conditioning unit (vertical air flow flaps, more expensive the unit, more of the steppers. high end mitsubishi has 4 of them) . if i follow some degree of logic, that stepper controller too. never bothered to check, though.
