Hi /cyber/.

I recently started to study javascript and i learned some python a while ago.

What are the main languages i should learn?

I have a lot of manuals and shit. I got them here a few months ago.

C# is a must. It's a very "unsafe" language, meaning if you fuck up your code and run it, it can and will fuck up EVERYTHING. That said, imagine what you could fuck up if you were fluent in it, and knew what you were doing.

A lot.

:)

What else?

I'm excited now!

 No.38618

Learn C, it is the basis for everything.

 No.38624

>>38618

Listen to this anon, O'Reilly's C essentials is gud, find it in the /g/entoomen library

 No.38625

>>38624

I just read some info about it.

Looks hard as fuck… but i don't give a shit. I'll learn it.

l3arn verilog.

I've been programming C# for years and have no idea what you mean. It's "unsafe" and will "fuck up EVERYTHING" only if you tell it to do something dumb like delete everything from your computer. This is no different from any other "real" language.

 No.38642

>>38630

Looks really complex, but i'll give it a go.

 No.38653

>>38601

The language choice depends of what you plan to do, the hardware, the OS needs, the UX, etc.

There are languages best suited for certain tasks, more than other.

If you want an unbiased recommendation, follow this:

1. chart 'what you need to build'

2. flowchart it´s path

3. uml it´s insides (unified modeling lang), or other prototyping

4. from the project requirements, choose the languages.

Who knows if you will need to learn Lisp or Fortran instead of C.

 No.38657

>>38601

Assembly -> C -> Lisp -> C++ -> Java -> Html,CSS,JS -> SQL -> Adenine/L -> Haskell -> Perl (optional beyond here) -> COBOL -> Fortran -> C# (it is a shitty language but good to know)

There. Go in that order and never look back.

 No.38672

Seconding starting with assembly. I've started messing around with x86 recently and its been a blast. I've worked with C, Java, C++, and some minor HTML and CSS, but I think I've learned more from Assembly than anything else.

Assembly forces you to learn and adapt. Assembly makes you understand WHY things work, not just how to do them.

 No.38676

>>38625

If you'd like an easier form of C, try Go which is heavily inspired by it.

thanx for the schway new jams!

 No.38700

>>38676

Na its fine, i'm not used to this complexity.

I'll get used to it.

 No.38701

I can give you much more names for this genre of music.

The only doubt i have is:

How do i learn C/c#?

 No.38719

>>38702

Start reading any of the countless free books and tutorials online for it.

Cool, ty.

I guess i need to install ubuntu.

 No.38741

>>38725

Orrrr, this is a great opportunity to learn about VMs.

 No.38774

>>38725

Don't install Ubuntu. It has a tendency to… phone home to amazon. Stick with its variants like kubuntu, xubuntu, lubuntu, etc. If you don't really care then go for ubuntu. I'm not gonna lie I actually kinda like unity somewhat, but it's a real resource hog.
